TOMORROW NIGHT!

Raising teens who have experienced trauma can be deeply rewarding and uniquely challenging. The complex journey of adolescence may be even more challenging for your teen as a result of the negative experiences they endured in early childhood. Regardless of how long they’ve been a part of your family, those early experiences may continue to shape how they see themselves, how they trust others and regulate their emotions, and behavior.

Join us as we explore typical adolescent behavior and discuss practical ways we, as caregivers, can support our teens while also taking care of ourselves.

We’re especially honored to be joined by a teenage adoptee who will briefly share their personal reflections on the relationships and interventions that made a meaningful impact in their life.

Whether you're raising a teen now or just beginning the adolescent journey with your child, you won't want to miss this workshop.

This is a great time to connect with other parents who understand your experiences, celebrate wins, or just to say hello and listen if sharing happens to be difficult right now. The simple act of sharing space with other parents who get it may be just what you need.

Email: training@abcfoc.org to RSVP! Dinner and childcare (ages 2+) are included!

Our hearts are full after a beautiful luncheon in Dover where presented us, and (other amazing DE children’s charities) with a grant to support our children and families. Everyone in the room was so clearly dedicated and passionate about supporting our most vulnerable, and we left filled with great energy to take us through the rest of our week. ❤️

Things to be on the lookout for (ABC donors)- a special holiday edition of our ABCFOC News newsletter will be mailed early next week- and will be hitting your mailboxes instead of your inboxes! ✉️ 🐌

Curious but haven’t made a gift yet? Pop over to our website’s Donate page before Monday and we’ll add you to the mail list!

Happy !

We are so grateful for our small but mighty community; you’ve already given so much this year to support children in foster care and the families who love them.

If you’ve already made a gift, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity makes our work possible.

If you haven’t yet had the chance, or if you have the means to give again today, your support goes directly toward:

🔹Resources that help parents build strong, lasting connections with their children.

🔹Therapeutic supports that give children the tools to process trauma.

🔹Family-centered events, respite care, and more that create a community safety net for our families.

🔹24/7 lifetime support, because our families never face challenges alone.

🔹Having someone to call when all hell is breaking loose is invaluable.

🔹Emergency funds, our families can focus on their kids without worrying about how to replace the broken refrigerator, or how to pay for a therapy not covered by insurance.

Every gift matters. Every gift changes a life.

As we pause to look back on this year, our hearts are full. We’ve shared in so many moments of joy, big and small, and each one has been a gift.

This behind-the-scenes glimpse from a special project shows just how much love, laughter, and pure magic our families bring to the world. It brightened our day to look back on it, and we hope it brightens yours too.

It is our deepest honor to walk alongside the incredible children and families we serve. ❤️
