This week, our walls are covered in something powerful 💚

For National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, our staff and clients created a Body Belonging Wall - a space to write affirmations, claim their bodies, and remind each other that healing is possible.

“I choose to make peace with my body.”
“My body is STRONG.”

Every body matters. Every body belongs. And every person who walks through our doors deserves to feel that.

Thank you to everyone who shared a piece of themselves on this wall. You are seen. You are valued. You belong.

Myths don’t just spread misinformation - they create barriers to care. This Eating Disorder Awareness Week, we’re setting the record straight!

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses. They don’t have a look. They aren’t a choice. And they affect people of every size, background, and story.

The more we know, the more we can show up for ourselves and each other because every body belongs. Swipe through to challenge what you think you know, and share this with someone who needs to see it.

Did you know that 1 in 10 Americans will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime?

Despite this, stigma, misinformation, and stereotypes continue to delay care.

Eating disorders are not a phase. Not a choice.
Not about vanity. They are serious mental health conditions AND recovery is possible with the right support.

If you or someone you love is struggling, speak up. Ask questions. Request referrals. Advocate for care. Because every BODY deserves treatment.

What you say (and don’t say) matters! Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses, and recovery requires compassion, boundaries, and patience from supportive loved ones.

Small shifts can reduce shame: Avoid body-based comments. Don’t discuss your diet or exercise routine. Respect privacy. Stay engaged rather than avoiding the topic. Support doesn’t mean fixing. It means showing up.

This weekend, Chrysalis Center was represented at the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals Conference in Baltimore, MD!

Our Executive Director and Clinical Director had the honor of presenting alongside other leaders in the field - engaging in conversations about growth, healing, and the future of eating disorder treatment.

We’re grateful to be part of a community of professionals committed to raising the standard of care and even more grateful to bring that energy and learning back to our clients here at home.

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week starts today.

If food, weight, or body thoughts are taking up more space in your life than you’d like you are not alone.

You do not have to look a certain way to deserve help. You do not have to “be sick enough.” You do not have to do this by yourself.

Every BODY belongs - including yours.

We’re honored to walk alongside those in recovery and the families who support them. Stay with us this week as we share more!

Some days call for productivity. Some days call for filling your cup.

Rest isn’t a reward - it’s a requirement for sustainable healing.

Whether it’s a nature walk, journaling your thoughts, or simply stepping away from social media, small moments of care add up.

What’s one way you’re filling your cup this week? 💚

Eating disorders affect people of every race, body size, gender, and background. But access to diagnosis and treatment has never been equal.

This Black History Month, we’re reflecting on the racial disparities Black individuals face in eating disorder care - from harmful stereotypes and underdiagnosis to structural barriers and lack of representation in research and treatment spaces.

Awareness matters. Action matters more.

We’re proud to share a new blog post written by Chrysalis intern Isabelle Mabe exploring why equitable, culturally competent, trauma-informed care is essential for healing. Read more at the link in our bio!

Now that Valentine’s Day has passed, we want to leave you with this: The most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one you have with yourself.

Whether yesterday felt joyful, neutral, lonely, complicated, or heavy - your healing still matters.

Recovery is self-love in action. It’s choosing care when it’s hard. It’s practicing patience when your inner critic gets loud. It’s allowing support instead of pushing it away.

You deserve care, patience, and support every single day 💕

Hunger cues can be subtle - especially after periods of restriction, stress, or disconnection.

Because hunger doesn’t always look the way we expect it to, recovery often starts with listening sooner.

If you’re working on rebuilding trust with your body, you’re not alone. We’re here to help 💚
