Advocacy has been turned into action—initiating, supporting, and helping pass legislation that supports people impacted by substance use disorder and their families.

We need more advocates in Delaware.

I’m grateful to serve on the Addiction Action Committee’s Harm Reduction Subcommittee alongside incredible individuals doing this work every day, and to represent Face the Facts Delaware in these efforts.

During these free trainings hosted by the Committee, you can learn how to be an effective advocate and be part of real change.

These sessions are open to people with lived experience, families, providers, and community members.

🌷 First Day of Spring 🌷

There is something about spring that feels like permission.

Permission to start again.
Permission to breathe deeper.
Permission to believe that change is possible.

At Face the Facts DE, we know recovery mirrors the seasons. Winter can feel long. Heavy. Still. But spring reminds us that growth is happening even when we cannot see it.

Seeds break open in the dark before they bloom in the light.

If you are in recovery, supporting someone in recovery, grieving, healing, rebuilding — this season is for you.

Spring says:
You survived the cold.
You are allowed to grow.
You are not done yet.

Today feels like hope.
Like longer days.
Like new beginnings.

And we believe in new beginnings.

Keep going. Keep planting. Keep showing up.

The bloom is coming. 🌼💜

This is the face of addiction..
As told by her momma..

My daughter's name is Alisha and she was 29 when she passed. She worked and had two boy's. Most people didn't know she was a addict. She got a infection in her heart from injecting drugs. In Nov 2014 she had open heart surgery to remove a vegetation in her heart and repair a valve. She had a whole new start. But it didn't last long and she was using again. Each time the infection come back she would be in the hospital for 3 or 4 weeks then a nursing home for 2 or 3 more weeks to finish her IV antibiotics. We would get home and be good for a few weeks then she would start using again.

I will share more with you later. This is hard...
