We provide an array of community-based services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabiliti

es. Our services promote individual choice, empowerment and community inclusion. A Caring Heart provides day program services at nine Independence Centers, residential supports at eight group homes and individual AFL homes, plus overnight respite at Aunt Max's Respite Care in Wilson.

Our Wilson day program's book club met last week. They are reading My Mechanical Romance by Alexene Farol Follmuth. They made robots from kitchen materials to go along with the book's theme of exploring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Great imaginations!

Last Thursday, our Goldsboro day program hunted for eggs at the office location. Afterwards, they enjoyed a light lunch.

This Wednesday, they ventured to the Gipson Play Plaza at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. They ate lunch, walked the trails, and explored the creative artwork.

Our Smithfield day program participated in a team building activity with staff and consumers. The activity was to build the highest tower using seven spaghetti noodles, masking tape, string, and a marshmallow. They had 30 minutes to complete the goal. The winners height was 18 inches. 😍

Movies was the theme for our Goldsboro office this past month. Nick hosted his second Movie Trivia Game on March 20. Participants had fun guessing the movie titles and winning candy for their correct answers. Nick and his staff provided yummy sandwiches and chips for everyone to munch on during the game.

On March 24, the Goldsboro crew took in a movie at the Golden Ticket Cinema Theater in Greenville to see the movie GOAT.
