We’re excited to share that beginning April 14th, Wilson OB-GYN will offer mammograms right here in our office, making it easier than ever to stay on top of your breast health. 💙

Mammograms are one of the most effective tools for early detection of breast cancer, often identifying changes before symptoms are noticeable. Early detection can lead to more treatment options and significantly better outcomes.

By offering mammograms in-office, we’re able to provide:
✔️ Greater convenience — schedule alongside your annual exam
✔️ Continuity of care with a team you already trust
✔️ Faster coordination of results and next steps if needed

Your health shouldn’t require extra steps or added stress, and now it doesn’t have to.

📅 Appointments are now available starting April 14th
👉 Call our office or schedule today to book your mammogram

💬 Have questions about when to start screening? We’re happy to talk through it with you.

Annual exams help detect issues like cervical cell changes, breast abnormalities, and hormonal imbalances early, often before symptoms appear.

Early detection improves treatment options and outcomes.

💊 Your Birth Control Needs Can Change
Birth control is not one-size-fits-all. Changes in age, health conditions, medications, or future plans can affect which method is best for you. Side effects like headaches, mood changes, or irregular bleeding are worth discussing.

Revisiting your options helps ensure your method supports both your health and lifestyle.

🤰 When Should You Feel Baby Move, and Why It Matters
Most patients feel fetal movement between 16–25 weeks, depending on pregnancy history and placenta placement. Early movements may feel subtle, but they become stronger and more predictable over time.

Later in pregnancy, movement patterns help providers assess baby’s well-being.

👉 Contact your provider right away if you notice a sudden decrease or change in movement.

🩸 What Your Period Can Tell You About Your Health
Your menstrual cycle reflects hormonal balance and overall health. Changes in cycle length, flow, or pain can signal stress, thyroid disorders, PCOS, or other medical conditions.

Tracking your cycle over time helps your provider understand patterns and determine whether changes are normal or need evaluation.

👉 Helpful Action: Start tracking your cycle for the next 2–3 months and bring that information to your next visit.

The postpartum period doesn’t end after your six-week checkup. While that visit is an important milestone, healing and adjustment often continue for months, and sometimes longer. Your body, hormones, emotions, and daily routines all go through major changes after birth, and recovery isn’t the same for everyone.

During the postpartum months, it’s common to experience:
• Ongoing physical healing or discomfort
• Hormonal shifts that affect mood and sleep
• Fatigue that feels deeper than “just being tired”
• Changes in bleeding, pelvic floor strength, or sexual health
• Emotional challenges, including anxiety or feeling overwhelmed

These experiences are valid, and they deserve attention. If something doesn’t feel right, physically or emotionally, it’s important to speak up. Support may include medical care, mental health resources, pelvic floor therapy, or simply reassurance and guidance.

You are not alone in this phase. Ongoing postpartum care is just as important as prenatal care, and it plays a key role in your long-term health and well-being.

💬 If you’re navigating the postpartum period, know that help and support are always available.
