Sleep changes are very common during pregnancy, and many expecting parents notice disruptions at different stages. Hormonal shifts, physical changes, a growing belly, frequent nighttime bathroom trips, and even vivid dreams can all affect how well you rest.

Common sleep challenges during pregnancy may include:
• Trouble falling or staying asleep
• Needing to urinate more often at night
• Discomfort from back, hip, or leg pain
• Heartburn or shortness of breath
• Restless or vivid dreams

Helpful tips that may improve sleep include:
• Sleeping on your side (especially the left side) with pillows to support your belly, back, and knees
• Creating a calming bedtime routine to signal your body it’s time to rest
• Gentle stretching or prenatal yoga before bed
• Limiting caffeine later in the day and avoiding large meals close to bedtime

Quality rest supports your physical health, emotional well-being, and your baby’s growth. If sleep problems are persistent or interfering with daily life, bring it up at your prenatal visit. There may be safe, supportive options to help you rest more comfortably.

When we talk about patient-centered care, we mean care that truly puts you at the center of every visit, not just your chart or appointment time.

Patient-centered care means:
✔️ Taking the time to listen without rushing or interrupting
✔️ Explaining diagnoses, test results, and treatment options in clear, understandable language
✔️ Respecting your personal values, concerns, and health goals
✔️ Creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment

Every patient deserves to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in the decisions they make about their health. Your visit should leave you feeling informed, respected, and empowered, never confused, unheard, or dismissed.

We believe the best healthcare happens when trust, communication, and compassion come first.

Pap tests are an important part of cervical health and help screen for changes in cervical cells before they become serious. While getting results can sometimes feel stressful, most outcomes are routine and manageable.

After a Pap test, results may include:
✔️ Normal: No abnormal cells were found, and you’ll continue with routine screening.
✔️ Minor cell changes: These are often caused by HPV. Your provider may recommend monitoring with repeat testing.
✔️ Follow-up testing: In some cases, additional tests or a closer exam may be recommended to better understand the results.

Needing follow-up does not automatically mean cancer. In fact, Pap tests are designed to catch changes early when they’re easiest to monitor or treat. This proactive approach is one of the most effective tools in preventing cervical cancer.

If your results are unclear or raise questions, it’s always okay to reach out. Understanding your results helps you feel informed, empowered, and confident in your care.

Menstrual cycles don’t always follow a perfect schedule, and occasional changes can happen. Stress, illness, travel, or lifestyle shifts can all affect your cycle. However, ongoing or frequent irregularity is something worth paying attention to.

Irregular periods can be caused by several factors, including:
• Ongoing stress or major life changes
• Hormonal imbalances
• Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS)
• Thyroid conditions
• Significant weight loss or weight gain

Your menstrual cycle is an important indicator of overall health. Changes in timing, flow, or symptoms can offer clues about what’s happening in your body.

If your periods are consistently unpredictable, very heavy, very painful, or suddenly different from what’s normal for you, a conversation with your OB-GYN can help identify the cause and discuss treatment options if needed.

Getting answers early can provide clarity, reassurance, and peace of mind.

💬 Have you noticed changes in your cycle? It’s always okay to ask questions.

February is often focused on love and relationships, and that includes taking care of your sexual health. Sexual health is an important part of overall wellness, and it’s something you should feel comfortable talking about with your healthcare provider.

A sexual health check-in might include:
• Scheduling routine STI screenings, even if you don’t have symptoms
• Talking openly about discomfort, pain, or changes during intimacy
• Asking questions about libido changes, hormonal shifts, or birth control options

These conversations are common, important, and always judgment-free. Open communication helps your provider better understand your needs and support your health at every stage of life.

Taking care of your sexual health is a form of self-care, and you deserve accurate information, respectful care, and answers you can trust.

💬 Do you have a question you’ve been meaning to ask at your next visit?

February is about love, and that includes loving your body enough to listen to it. 💗

While every woman is different, certain symptoms deserve attention:
• Bleeding between periods
• Severe pelvic pain
• Cycles shorter than 21 days or longer than 35
• Pain during intimacy

If something feels off, trust that instinct. Your OB-GYN visit is a safe place to talk it through.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it still affects thousands of women each year.

Routine Pap tests and HPV screenings can detect changes in cervical cells long before cancer develops. These simple screenings allow providers to treat issues early, often before symptoms ever appear.

Here’s what you can do to protect your cervical health:
• Stay up to date on Pap and HPV screenings
• Ask your provider which test schedule is right for you
• Get the HPV vaccine if eligible
• Speak up about symptoms like abnormal bleeding or pelvic pain

Taking care of your cervical health is an act of self-care and an important part of protecting your future.

If it’s been a while since your last screening, now is the perfect time to schedule your visit.
