NEW Series: Substance Use During Pregnancy
This series is FREE and open to Physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses, social workers, and all others interested in the topic! Credit hours are available and listed on the flyer.

Our first training, Cannabis in Pregnancy: What to Say? will be on Friday, April 10th at 8:30am! The training will be held in the Wilson County Health Department training room. Melissa L Godwin, MSW, LCSW will be the speaker for this months training!

As cannabis use rises, so does use during pregnancy. This session reviews potential impacts of prenatal exposure, how to discuss risks with women, and key treatment and harm reduction strategies.

We are SO excited to announce RC3's 9th annual Live Life In Color Run!!! Join us on September 12th, at 8am!

This colorfully vibrant event celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality within our community. The run begins at the Greater Wilson Rotary Park in Wilson, NC, and goes through the Cavalier Terrace neighborhood.

Come run, walk, crawl, or bike a 5k or 1 mile fun run to support the recovery support efforts taking place here in Wilson County! We welcome families, groups, and individual runners of all capacities. This event is open to pets and strollers as well.

Each participant that registers by August 16th are guaranteed to get a swag bag and t-shirt, after that it will be first come first serve. Early bird prices end on July 30th.

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Full Coalition Meeting today at the Wilson County Health Department! We had a great time!

During this meeting we heard from several community partners about the current va**ng/tobacco trends in our community, welcomed our new employees, and heard about several new upcoming events & trainings!

We would like to give another HUGE shoutout to everyone who spoke!

My name is Kimberly Redance, and I recently stepped into the RC3 Coordinator position with the Wilson County Substance Prevention Coalition. Serving individuals in recovery and supporting the community is very personal to me because of my own journey of overcoming addiction. Organizations like Hope Alliance played an important role in my life by helping me find treatment when I needed it most, and that experience gave me a deep appreciation for the power of community support. Through my work as a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist and my involvement in outreach, I have developed a strong passion for helping others find hope, connection, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives. I also enjoy bringing creativity into the work I do by finding new ways to engage the community and build meaningful programs that inspire and support people in recovery. This is an opportunity I truly value because it allows me to combine my personal experience, professional training, and creativity to make a positive impact in the lives of others. I am thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such a wonderful team at WCSPC.

Last week some of our staff members attended the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) RCORP Reverse Site Visit in Washington, DC! It was a wonderful week full of great information & networking with other grantees! We’re excited to be home and put what we’ve learned to work!
