Tip 1: Pause before you share. Ask: “Whose voices are missing here?”
Tip 2: Create media that reflects you — queer joy, queer resistance, queer futures.
Tip 3: Support queer creators and media makers — the stories we tell = the world we build.

Visibility matters. purple_heart During Asexual Awareness Week, we celebrate the ace community and affirm that every person deserves understanding, respect, and pride.

“Ace” is a term used to describe people who identify as asexual, meaning they experience little to no sexual attraction. The ace spectrum is diverse, including identities like demisexual and gray-asexual.

Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day—a moment to honor the growing number of people living long, full lives with HIV thanks to advances in treatment. Here in Wilton Manors—where our community skews older than many others—we’re especially mindful of the unique health and social needs around prevention, testing, treatment, and care for aging adults.

Here’s a powerful and urgent piece from Virginia Mercury that needs amplification:

This commentary by Eric Bonds highlights how Virginia is dismantling vital HIV/AIDS services—funded under the Ryan White Program—with severe cuts to housing, mental health, dental care, transportation, and more for tens of thousands of people living with HIV across the state. Cuts totaling nearly $2M have impacted regions from Hampton Roads to Fredericksburg, even as the state reports a budget surplus. These rollback measures threaten to unravel decades of progress and set a concerning precedent for low-income healthcare support.

Let’s stand in solidarity. Access to comprehensive HIV care—beyond just medications—must be defended. We need decision-makers to restore these programs, because “care is resistance,” and every person deserves dignity, health, and stability.
