Hi everyone,

I wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who joined us today to celebrate Torey James' life. Your presence truly made the day so special and meaningful for all of us.

The family and I are incredibly touched by the outpouring of love and generosity. We're especially grateful for all the donations that helped us bring Torey home and allowed us to give him the beautiful celebration he deserved. Your kindness and support made a world of difference during such a difficult time.

It means so much to know we have such a wonderful community rallying around us. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, and constant support. We genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

Hey everyone,

We're really looking forward to gathering with y’all tomorrow to celebrate the wonderful life of Torey. To make sure everyone has all the details, we wanted to share a few quick notes for our time together.

We'll be meeting at the beautiful **Butler Pitch & Putt**, located at **201 Lee Barton Dr., Austin, TX 78704**. It's a lovely space that we think perfectly suits the spirit of the day. The time is 2pm.

This is going to be a super relaxed and casual affair, just as Torey would have wanted. Please feel free to come in whatever makes you most comfortable – think jeans, a favorite t-shirt, or anything easygoing. If you prefer to dress up a little, that's absolutely fine too! Our main priority is simply having you there. Just a friendly tip, though: we'll be doing a bit of gentle walking, so comfy shoes are definitely a smart choice!

We're so grateful for your presence and support as we come together to remember a very special soul, Torey James.

We've been so incredibly moved by the tremendous outpouring of love and support from the community during this unimaginably difficult time for Torey's family. Your kindness has meant the world to them.

As the family continues to navigate their profound grief and loss, they've asked for a little help in making the upcoming celebration of life as personal and intimate as possible. To ensure a space where they can truly focus on remembering Torey and begin their healing journey in a very private way, they are respectfully requesting that attendance be limited to those who had a personal relationship with Torey or Nance.

We truly hope you can understand and respect this heartfelt wish from the family. Your ongoing thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.

Update: my correct number is 559-779-5510. I apologize that there was a typo.

Original: Torey's celebration of life is not in a club house or event center. It is in an area that is at the side of the golf course that is used for rentals and gatherings. It is outside. It is covered. It is informal. Torey would never want any formal gathering in a typical setting. Butler is where he played golf, met his friends, laughed and enjoyed his life most.

We will gather at 2pm. It is a jeans and tee shirt kinda vibe...fav cap if you like. Torey ALWAYS wore one and had quite the collection, all kept in pristine condition.
If you would like to play a round of golf, please let me know. I will put your name on a list for a tee time. It is free for you to play (a gift from the Butler family in memory of my son) however, I would need you to RSVP to Nance or to me 559-779-5510 and I’ll pass it onto Nance by Monday, 12/22. RSVP only necessary if you wish to play golf.

Just wanted to share a quick update about the Celebration of Life – we've got a little correction to the details, so please make a note of this!

The gathering will still be on **Sunday, December 28th at 2 PM**, and we'll be at the lovely **Butler Pitch & Putt, located at 201 Lee Barton Drive in Austin**. Looking forward to seeing you there to remember and celebrate together.

On another note, I'm absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news! Thanks to *all of you* and your incredible generosity, we've successfully raised enough funds to cover everything. Seriously, your kindness has been overwhelming, and we are so, so grateful for every single contribution. It truly means the world to us.

This is his Obituary:
Torey passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 8th while working in Minnesota with Allied Modular Building Systems, Inc. – Tx
He worked with Solar Winds & other start ups in his earlier years.
In recent years, Torey started his own company, JamesCo Painting where he took on residential and commercial projects throughout Texas and surrounding states.
He lived life fully and with gusto. His adventurous outlook on life knew no limits. He never met a person that he couldn’t talk with, often enjoying talking with strangers along his journeys and sharing his videos with his friends.
Torey loved the outdoors & walks with his dog ” Bitey”. A favorite trip was a couple of years ago. He drove throughout parts of Colorado including of course, Glenwood Springs with a trip to see Doc Holliday’s Grave, Tombstone being his favorite movie.
He loved music especially Johnny Cash, Lucas Nelson, & Irish music and rapping a few good tunes too.
Torey loved Butler Park and hanging and playing golf with his amazing circuit of friends who knew him as ‘T’ T-boy, TJ, Big Country and when getting a little rambunctious, Troy-Boy.
People were drawn to his humor, stories and the spontaneity with which he lived his life.
His generosity, loyalty, honesty and laughter are known by all who knew him and even some who didn’t.
His heart was unmeasurable, helping everyone and expecting nothing.
Torey is survived by his loving mother & his stepfather of Austin Texas, his sister & nephew both of Pflugerville Texas , his aunt & cousins throughout Arizona, and other family in Texas and various states and an amazing extended family of friends.
Torey left us far too soon, but the memory of his vibrant, full-of-life presence endures. He was a mischievous soul with a wonderful sense of humor—a true generator of joy and energy.
There will be a casual Celebration of Life on December 28th, Torey’s 38th birthday.
It will be held at Butler Park, “church” as Torey and his friends referred to it.
Please come by at 2pm to share a story, a laugh and to raise a glass to him.
