The month of November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month, to educate about diabetic eye diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy. Yearly eye exams are crucial to monitoring and managing eye related side effects in diabetic patients.

October is Contact Lens Safety Month!

Tips for proper and safe contact lens care:

👀 Always thoroughly wash your hands before touching your eyes or handling your lenses
👀 Do not put dirty or torn lenses in your eyes
👀 Store contact lenses in fresh solution every night, or dispose of after wear if using dailies
👀 Do not sleep overnight in your lenses unless discussed with your doctor

On Friday we had our annual office team building activity and got to make our own custom candles! We had such a great time learning how to do something new and enjoying each other's company outside of the office. A huge thank you to Dr. Morris and Phil for treating us to this experience and continuing this tradition set in place by Dr. Robson several years ago!

Meer Dr. Lokant!

Dr. Teresa Lokant received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at West Virginia University. She then attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Following Optometry school, she completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Eye Care with the Department of Veteran Affairs. She is excited to be a part of the Valley Vision team!
