Great safety tips to protect your EBT account

Don't let EBT scammers steal your holiday cheer! EBT theft is on the rise nationwide, with scams like card skimming and fake texts putting families at risk. However, you have the power to stop benefit theft in its tracks.

✔️ Switch up your PIN at least once a week with a code only you would think of.
✔️ Ignore any suspicious texts about your EBT account — they’re scams!
✔️ Routinely check your balance, keeping an eye out for unexpected charges.
✔️ Lock your card in the ConnectEBT app or website after each purchase.

A few simple steps can make a big difference in protecting your benefits. Learn more at www.dss.virginia.gov/benefit/EBTScam.

Our Story

In the autumn of 2015, Cheryl Beaudoin-Stehlin and Todd Stehlin formed the Center for Counseling and Growth, PLC. Our first clients were seen in February of 2016 and, since that time, our Center’s therapists have been able to meet the needs of clients ages 5-75 years who have a variety of mental health issues. Opening the Center for Counseling and Growth was a natural progression for Cheryl and Todd after working a combined 40+ years in the counseling profession. From the beginning, our goal has been to serve the mental health needs of our community by offering evening and Saturday hours, as well as accepting a variety of insurances, including Virginia Medicaid. We believe in the importance of treating all of our clients and community partners with dignity, respect, and professional courtesy.
