We want to make our community aware of a game commonly played by high school seniors across the country called “Senior Assassin.”

In this game, participants attempt to “eliminate” each other using water guns or toy guns—some of which can closely resemble real fi****ms. While often intended as a game, it can create serious safety concerns for both participants and the public—especially if someone believes a real weapon is involved.

We’re sharing this information so families are aware and can have conversations with their students about making safe, responsible decisions. Thank you for working with us to help keep our students and community safe.

Understanding how these technologies work is one of the most powerful tools parents and caregivers have to protect teens’ brain development.

A multipronged approach—including ongoing conversations about how social media is designed—can help safeguard adolescents.

Our Story

In the autumn of 2015, Cheryl Beaudoin-Stehlin and Todd Stehlin formed the Center for Counseling and Growth, PLC. Our first clients were seen in February of 2016 and, since that time, our Center’s therapists have been able to meet the needs of clients ages 5-75 years who have a variety of mental health issues. Opening the Center for Counseling and Growth was a natural progression for Cheryl and Todd after working a combined 40+ years in the counseling profession. From the beginning, our goal has been to serve the mental health needs of our community by offering evening and Saturday hours, as well as accepting a variety of insurances, including Virginia Medicaid. We believe in the importance of treating all of our clients and community partners with dignity, respect, and professional courtesy.
