James William "Bill" Green, also known as Paco to many, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on November 20, 1939 to the late Maggie Mae and Frank Green. He retired from IBM after 34 years of service. He began as an apprentice in tool & dye, and later became a Manufacturing Engineer. After retirement he worked as a volunteer at Clark Regional Hospital. In 1958 he married Barbara Tapp. adding to this union, they had three children; Diane Johnson, Amy (Chuck) Harms, and Jim (Karen) Green. He was a grandfather to Jacob Martin, Clay (Sarah) Martin, and Lance Johnson. He was a great-grandfather to Alyssa and Ava Martin, Jayden Whitley, Sam and Lucy Mofield. James was preceded in death by his grandson, Lance Johnson, and siblings Prewitt, Virginia, Kathleen, Betty June, Curtis, Morris and Ollie Frances. He enjoyed music and dancing, playing golf and spending time with his family. He enjoyed wood working and made beautiful pieces of furniture for both his home and for his children. We want to give special thanks to his wonderful caregivers and Hospice East. In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Dr. or First Presbyterian Church, Windridge Dr. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3, from 4:00-6:00 pm, at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, with a celebration of life to follow.

Brian Keith Smith, 56, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was born April 26, 1969, to the late Dewey Jack Smith and Norma Jean Baber Smith in Wi******er, KY. He was in Sales at Mansea Metal. Brian is survived by his sons, Brian Keith (Kayla) Smith, II, Timothy Smith, Lexington, KY and Chandler Smith, Nicholasville, KY; a daughter, Sarah (Austin) Long, Richmond, Ky; a sister Mary Duvall, Avondell, AZ and five grandchildren. In additon to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Anthony W. Smith. Services will be on Friday, November 28, at 1:00 pm, at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, with visitation from 11:00 am until the hour of service.

Frank Keith Lanter, 64, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born to the late Jesse "Peaches" Lanter and Mary Sydney Delaney Lanter on February 2, 1961 in Wi******er, Kentucky.
He was employed by Kroger for over 27 years and Donato's Pizza where he made close friendships that he was thankful for. He was an avid sports lover and prankster. His sense of humor and sarcasm and loving kind heart will be missed by all who knew him. "We love you a bushel and a peck!" Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra "Sandy" Nacole and Brent Anderson; grandaughter and husband, Sydney Irene and Ian Jargo; grandson Ivan John Anderson and great-grandson Soren Michael James Jargo; brothers Larry Lanter and Philip and Angie Lanter; Nieces and nephews, Tabatha Caudil, Cameron, Peyton and Delaney Lanter. Also a host of extended family and friends. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers are Cameron Lanter, Peyton Lanter, Phillip Lanter, Larry Lanter, Brent Anderson, Dean Sullivan and Christian Caudill. Services will be Tuesday, November 11, at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 until the hour of service.

Sue Craycraft Neal, 78, passed away peacefully at her home November 3,2025, less than a mile from the farmhouse where she was born, May 5, 1947. She was the first of the four living children of Calbert and Margaret Craycraft. Sue was the widow of James Herbie Neal and a retiree of the Lex. Bluegrass Army Depot. Sue was a Christian and loved God. Being the oldest sister, Sue was the boss or so she thought, of sisters, Peggy Ashe of Acworth, GA, Mary Craycraft (Sam Watts) of Wi******er. Sue's brother, Mark Craycraft was born in 1965, Sue's senior year at GRCHS. She delighted in spoiling him. When he married he gave her another sister, Susie (never called her sister-in-law). Sue's greatest joy in life was becoming an Aunt to Lauren Katherine (Katie) Craycraft. She was definitely a helicopter aunt. Sue was a generous and caring person, always thinking of others. She once gave the shoes right off her feet to a person in need. She loved spending time with her family and will be in their hearts forever. Great nieces and nephews include; Emily, Connor, Gito, Leo and Xander. In addition to her parents, husband and two infant brothers, she is preceded in death by her cherished niece, Elizabeth Ashe, and brother-in-law, David Ashe, of GA. The family would like to thank Ruth and Marsha Hillard for the loving hands they provided to Sue. Also, Hospice East and Dr. Greiser for the care they provided. Ray Douglas Taulbee, 79 of Clark County passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025. He is survived by his wife Dee Taulbee, Son Steven (Jessica) Taulbee, Daughter Kimberly Darnaby, four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Ray was a truck driver for Ale8 for 22 years and a member of the Christian Faith.

Visitation will be Wednesday October 22 at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home from 11:00 till 12:30 with Graveside Service by Bro. Billy Keller and burial at 1:00 in Boonesboro Cemetery.

Ronald E. Rogers, 83, widower of Anna Lee Hall Rogers, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was born November 20, 1941, to the late Edward L. Rogers and Mattie Parido Rogers in Wi******er. He retired from Bundy Tubing and attended Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his son Steven Rogers. His service will be at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home on Thursday, October 16, at twelve noon, with Pastor Dominic Sunukjian presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service. Pallbearers will be: Steven Rogers, Mike and Jarrod Hall, Jerry Botner, William Elkins and Larry Lambert. Burial in Wi******er Cemetery.

Chester Milton Rice, 77, husband of Karyn S. Rice, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2025. A life long Wi******er resident, he was born June 22, 1948 to the late Chester and Nancy S. Rice. He was an Air Force veteran, former President of Wi******er FOP, Sgt. at Clark Co. Detention Center, member of the American Legion and worked at Rockwell International. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Shane McCaslin, Shanna Rice, Amy Lucy (bonus daughter); a special nephew Gayle Williams. Also several neices and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Childrens's Researdh Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Rolan G. Maureen Lien, 91, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at Stanton Nursing Home under the care of Hospice East. She was born February 7, 1934, to the late Karl and Minerva (Huebner) Walter in Gunder, Iowa. She was a member of First Christian church, was an accountant, loved sewing,doing appliques on teeshirts and sweatshirts, and was an avid Bridge player. She is survived by her 3 children; Chuck (Becky) Lien, Brian (Tracy) Lien, and Julie (Mike) Menchen; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Walter and several cousins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings: Wayne Walter and Bill (Carolyn) Walter. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association. Angela Wood, 63, wife of Raymond L. Wood, for 26 years, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born July 19, 1962, to Harry Thomas Stivers and Betty Rhodus Stivers, In Richmond, KY. Angela worked in food service in the Fayette, Co. school system for 17 years, and a life long member of Davids Fork Baptist Church, and a avid animal lover. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Niki (Kris) Wood Beasley; a son, Raymond, Jr.(Sara) Wood; a sister, Diane (Mike) Stivers Reece; a brother,Jeff (Diane) Stivers and numerous beloved neices and nephews, grand kids, great grand kids, and great neices and nephews. Betty Green Bailey, 95, widow of Jessie (Jake )Betty Bailey, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025. She was born December 30, 1929, to the late Frank and Maggie Curtis Green, in Wi******er, KY. She was a hairdresser and a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a brother, William (Bill) Green, and step-daughter, Linda Caudill and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Rye, Virginia Hopkins and Ollie Frances Green, brothers, Morris, Curtis, and Prewitt Green.

Minnie "Van" Rogers, 79, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025. She was the daughter of the late O. C. Hamm and Ruby Irene McKenzie Hamm, born on March 24, 1946 in Harrison Co., KY. and was a member of Grace Bible Church. Van loved her family; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed being out in her back yard gardening and water aerobics with her friends. She is survived by her daughters; Michele (Kevin) Birch, and Jaime (Tommy) Saunders, a brother, O. C. Hamm (Jerrie); a sister Ruby (Wayne) Jacob; five grandchildren; Jake O'Bryan, Nicholas Hensley, Chaz Early, Weston and Wayland Saunders and five great-grandchildren. Janet Neace Miracle, 82, wife of William Carson Miracle, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was born on April 25, 1943, to the late Millard and Enez Potter Neace in Ashland, KY. She was a retired school teacher, serving 20 years in the Clark County School System. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her children: Mark Miracle, Janeen (Jesse) Lewis, Kristin Miracle; Siblings: Paul (Janice) Neace, Burtis (Jewell) Neace, Frances (Carlos) Flannery, Rose Marie (Rufus) Adkins, Juanita Zieber and Dorothy (Michael) McClanahan; grandchildren: Andrew and Gracie Lewis. Her services will be on Saturday, August 30, at 1:00 pm, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 2410 Lexington Rd., Wi******er. Visitation will be on Friday evening, August 29, at Rolan G.
