You can earn your PRS certification hours through Concern Hotline by becoming a trained volunteer listener. This requires signing a one-year commitment, completing in-person training, and serving at least one 4-hour shift on the hotline each week. Upon completion, we will sign off on 200 PRS certification hours. This opportunity provides hands-on experience while supporting individuals in need within our community.
To get started, you must fill out an application and required paperwork, have at least one year of personal recovery, and complete an in-person interview. These steps ensure that all listeners are prepared and supported to provide safe, effective help to those who reach out.
For more information or to sign up for an upcoming training, please email Tara at tcrawford@concernhotline.org

Fridays are supposed to feel like a deep breath…
but sometimes they just feel like everything catching up to you all at once.

If this week felt heavy, or messy, or just a little harder than you expected…
you don’t have to carry that into the weekend by yourself.

You don’t need the “right words” or a crisis to call.
You can just be human here.

Call us. We care.

The Taste of Wi******er was truly something special… and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of you.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to EVERYONE who showed up, supported, and believed in what we’re doing at Concern Hotline. This event was a huge success because of this incredible community.
A special thank you to our amazing sponsors, Johnny Blue, Perry Engineering, and Berry Hill Logistics, for standing behind this event and helping bring it to life.
To our co-chair, Nikki Lykens from Lykens Chiropractic, Inc, your time, energy, and dedication did not go unnoticed. We are so grateful to you.
Our Patron Table sponsors, Citrine Properties, Ken and Nancy McKee Foundation, Family Foot and Ankle Care, P.C., and Bancroft Investment Co., who all had a huge part in making this night so meaningful.
To Fox Meadow Barn, thank you for providing such a beautiful venue that truly set the tone for the evening. And to Grand Rental Station, thank you for making sure every detail came together so seamlessly.
And to our volunteers, helpers, and board members – you are the heart of Concern Hotline. Events like this simply cannot happen without you.
We are so thankful, so proud, and so inspired by the support that surrounds us.
This night was more than just a great event, it was a reminder of what we can do together.

April is Counseling Awareness Month.

Professional counselors help people find new strategies, gain insight, and overcome life’s challenges with compassion and skill. At Blue Ridge Care, our Center for Hope & Healing is part of that commitment.

Whether you’re facing your own health challenges or helping someone navigate theirs, you deserve support that meets you where you are.

In 2025, our team walked beside individuals and families through:

• 1,153 grief support clients — including individuals, families, and loved ones
• 1,001 counseling visits offering steadiness and clarity during difficult seasons
• 6,047 bereavement calls ensuring no one had to navigate grief alone
• 50 community workshops offered at schools, churches, senior living communities, and local organizations (beyond regularly scheduled programs)

Counselors do more than guide — they help people heal, grow, and reclaim hope.

If you or someone you know is grieving and needs emotional support, our team is here to walk beside you with compassion and care you can trust.
