When someone you love is struggling with addiction—or even navigating early recovery—it’s easy to feel powerless, confused, and emotionally drained. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how family members can care for themselves while showing up in a healthy way for their loved one. Together, we’ll look at personal patterns that often stem from childhood and parental experiences, and how those patterns may shape the way we relate today. Participants will be invited to open up, share, and connect in a safe space as we explore forgiveness—for others and for ourselves. You’ll leave with practical tools for setting compassionate boundaries, recognizing your own emotional reactions, and beginning to release the heaviness of the past so you can engage from a place of strength, clarity, and love.

Christopher Leston has been continuously sober since 2006 and has worked in the recovery field since 2009, beginning in community outreach for a dual-diagnosis program, recruited into residential care, and now facilitating recovery and empowerment workshops. Known in the recovery community for his heart-forward leadership, Christopher has guided thousands of individuals and families through the complexities of addiction and the healing process.

As the founder of Away Recovery, Christopher offers private and group retreats, deeply personalized one-on-one workshops, and powerful empowerment experiences—including walking across hot coals—to help participants reconnect with courage, purpose, and self-trust. His approach blends 12-step principles, somatic practices, and emotional process work, creating safe, honest spaces where people can explore personal patterns, heal from the past, and move forward with resilience.

We are so grateful to our friends at Insight Recovery Treatment Center for their partnership in the upcoming 💜Miles with Meaning 5K...One Mile at a Time, One Life at a Time💜

On Sunday, October 5th, the community will come together at beautiful Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, MA, for the Miles With Meaning 5K — an event where every mile makes a real difference in someone’s life.👟

Hosted by Insight Recovery Treatment Center, this 5K is more than just a run or walk. It’s a movement to support women in recovery by raising funds for sober living scholarships. These scholarships provide women with a safe, supportive environment where they can focus on rebuilding their lives and sustaining long-term recovery.

🏃What to Expect on Race Day 🏃‍♀️

From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, participants will enjoy a scenic route around Lake Quannapowitt, resource tables from local nonprofits, treatment centers, and businesses, and the uplifting energy of a community united for a cause. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or simply want to support the mission, this event welcomes all.
