Today was a bitter-sweet day. The legend and myth and long term SVCR Family member Tina Farmer the Residential Coordinator after 27 years is retiring this Friday.
We held a Retirement Luncheon for her, showered her with lots of wonderful memories, kudos, thank-you and some nice gifts to make her retirement more enjoyable..
Words can’t express her dedication, and loyalty to SVCR. She lead with her heart and was famous for saying, “it’s okay we will fix this together”.
She has hired and trained many staff over the years, many of which are now in management roles.
She lead by example and was always willing to do what it took to get the job done.
She was loved by all the individuals, families, stakeholders and entire SVCR Family.
We sincerely wish you best in your next chapter, you certainly have earned and deserve it…
Please join us in thanking Tina for a career that had a tremendous positive impact on do many wonderful people over the years.

Friday night the ladies and gentlemen from Saratoga Group Home had the opportunity to host a bingo night at the Wi******er Rescue Mission. It was an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and meaningful connection. We are so proud of the way our individuals give back to the community and share their kindness with others.
Community is all about showing up for each other and we can all offer support in some way.
Thats what community giveback is all about…🥰

Today we are celebrating two of our wonderful Program Managers, Brenda Good and Shari Harman. They completed the twelve month Leadership Institute at Laurel Ridge Workforce Solutions.
We are very proud of the new skills and tools you have gained and look forward to the implementation to continually develop staff at SVCR.
Congratulations Brenda and Shari may you continue to build strong teams and future leaders.

Today was certainly a bitter-sweet day. We celebrated Debbie’s retirement after “26”years of service with SVCR.

As the management team/family gathered for a wonderful luncheon and reflection of Debbie’s long career with SVCR.

The team went around the table and each of us stated what Debbie meant to us and what all we have learned and those privileged to gain from all her experience, wisdom and guidance over the years..

There was a theme that stuck out and that was of genuine care, love, compassion, coaching, mentorship, dedication, willingness to forgive, strong work ethic and many, many more adoring comments..

She stated to “remember to breathe”, allow for mistakes and use as learning opportunities and stepping stones to growth…

See Debbie just did not support the ladies in the home, she supported the staff, other managers, parents, agencies, stakeholders, really anyone that crossed her path…

I could go on for hours, however, I’ll close by saying, she blessed all of our lives each day with a smile and “oh honey” let me help you with that…
We all wish her health, happiness, and a most enjoyable next chapter….
We love you Debbie, this is not good-bye, this is see you at Cracker Barrel next Wednesday, lol..😂

SVCR enjoyed so many Holiday parties it was almost too many to capture. I wanted to give a special shout-out for Shari Harman and and the wonderful team at Chelsea Group Home. They hosted an awesome, “Ugly Sweater” Party and invited families and other homes.
As you can see they all had an awesome time!!
The smiles on the faces tell the story..🥰

Supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in a calm, structured home environment.
100% awake overnight shift – monitoring health and safety, documentation, houshold tasks
Pay: $17.00 hr. plus experience. Also, includes excellent benefit package to include fully paid health, dental, life, STD, three weeks paid vacation, plus 8 paid holidays.

Barbara Sanford, Area 13 Area Coordinator, was awarded the Eleanor S. White award last evening at the Shenandoah Valley Community Residences' banquet. Barbara was recognized for her countless hours and devotion to our program, a well-deserved honor. We appreciate you, Barbara. She was joined by her son, EW, and youngest daughter, Katrina, for the awards banquet.
