Happy Thanksgiving Week from SARA ELC!
Our students celebrated the week with lots of turkey crafts and discussions about what they’re thankful for. They even had their own pumpkin pie from Ms Kerry! Have a great holiday full of family, rest and great food! 🥧🥖🌽🦃🍂🍁

Happy Tuesday, Friends!
We have some exciting news at the SARA Early Learning Center!

We are now offering part time preschool options for families who are interested in a slow integration for their littles into the preschool setting. Children joining our part time program will have a discounted tuition and attend 2-3 full days a week, benefiting from our structured curriculum and our exemplary teaching environment. They will be part of our normal class setting and will still be involved in all of the normal instruction, activities and enrichment that our full time students enjoy, just 2-3 days a week instead of all 5!

Please fill out an application for our waitlist on our website or email info@saraelc.org if you are interested or have further questions.

We can't wait to start learning with you!

🌅 Good Morning, Wi******er Families and Surrounding Communities

We know that many families in our area are being affected by the current government shutdown — and with it, the uncertainty that comes when steady income, childcare, or daily structure is disrupted.

At the Southern Association for Reading Advancement (SARA), we believe that community stands tallest when times are hardest.
As a nonprofit early learning center, our mission goes beyond education — it’s about compassion, stability, and service to families when they need it most.

💛 Standing with Families During the Shutdown

In response to the recent shutdown and its impact on local households, SARA is opening its doors wider than ever to provide immediate relief for working parents and caregivers.

If you are currently struggling due to lost wages, furlough, or employment disruption, we are here to help.

For a limited time, we are offering:

🧸 75% Off Tuition for Impacted Families

Available for temporary placements during the shutdown period.

Applies to full-day Pre-K and toddler programs.

No long-term commitment required — families may enroll week-to-week.

Priority placement will be given to affected families in Franklin, Coffee, and surrounding counties.

We want your children to have a safe, nurturing place to learn, play, and grow, even while life outside feels uncertain.

📘 Why We’re Doing This

SARA was founded on the belief that education and faith can lift entire communities.
In moments like this, it’s not just our calling — it’s our responsibility — to make sure families have a reliable support system.

Our teachers and volunteers are standing by, ready to provide stability, structure, and care so parents can focus on what’s next, knowing their children are in loving hands.

Happy Friday! We have a new blog post up today from the blog "Read to Me" all about the benefits of writing and your brain health!
Take a read on our website and don't forget to subscribe.
"This week’s blog involves the complexity of the human brain and its functions in learning to write. I took inspiration from a lesson I shared with four of my favorite preschoolers, ages two through four..."

In my last blog, I addressed reading as not a natural process, that it must be systematically taught, practiced daily, and is only mastered with a great deal of time, energy, and patience on everyone’s part. In that same blog, I detailed how the brain accesses different lobes responsible for speci...
