Merry Christmas, John Myers! Thank you for the kind words! Dr. Rice and our team wish you a speedy recovery, happy holiday season, and a healthy and happy New Year!
In December 2024 I underwent a major surgery on my back. Due to my own ignorance I followed what so many do, and searched for Lexington facilities and doctors for what I believed would be the best possible solution to relieve my pain.
What followed in the next eleven months is a story for another day, but a phone call from a friend who knew that I had been forced to use a walker for any means of mobility and had to stop mowing my yard, quit fishing which definitely reflected on my business, and sadly could no longer run or play with my three year old grandson.
Fast forward to early this month, that phone caller asked me why would I not seek help in my own community?
Embarrassed and saddened I took the advice offered and contacted a long time family friend Ms Emilee Vaughn whom I was told worked in that office.
Immediately God showed me the pathway to Dr James Rice at the Kentucky Orthopaedics Center who immediately took control of my situation. What followed was a world wind of test etc⦠and upon approval I was rolled into the operating room on Monday in the Clark Regional Medical Center.
The care, the compassion, and the facility itself I now believe is sadly overlooked and underscored as it deserves much more appreciation for what we have in our own back door.
Dr. Rice! This doctor took much time with me to explain why I had been through for nearly a year with the assistance of a walker. What I would need to be whole again. He absolutely was not wrong. I was able to walk on my own one day after surgery. While I may keep a cane close for a bit, that would be to simply insure my fear of falling as I recover.
I deeply apologize for this lengthy post but please hear what I say. We are blessed to have a medical facility capable of taking care of our community and we have Dr. James Rice the absolute best doctor.
Merry Christmas to all!
