🎁 Unbox with me — a holiday gift for our patients

We’re ending the year (and heading into the new one) by adding a new layer of support at Body & Mind.

We’ve brought in BEMER PEMF, a gentle, non-stimulating modality we’ll be integrating during sessions for patients whose systems are working hard but not efficiently — including those navigating long COVID, nervous system dysregulation, chronic pain, autoimmune and complex medical conditions.

This isn’t about pushing or “boosting.”
It’s about restoring rhythm, reducing background noise, and supporting containment so the body can actually recover.

A thoughtful addition.
Used conservatively.
Always individualized.

New year. New support. ✨

Mass General Brigham did the largest long covid study to date in the US and published their results last month.

They found 8 different trajectory patterns of long covid.
-persistent symptoms, high severity
-intermittent symptoms, high severity
-improving symptoms, moderate severity
-improving symptoms, low severity
-worsening symptoms, moderate severity
-delayed worsening of symptoms and delayed increased severity
-consistent symptoms, low severity
-consistent low severity, minimal to no symptoms

Getting another infection while recovering from long covid made for worse outcomes. Made me thing of second impact syndrome in the concussion recovery world

Symptoms were tracked by the Long Covid research index and included the following 12 areas:
-postexertional malaise
-fatigue
-brain fog
-dizziness
-gastrointestinal symptoms
-palpitations
-changes in sexual desire or capacity
-loss of or change in smell or taste, thirst
-chronic cough
-chest pain
-abnormal movements
-hair loss

Body and Mind has had a large increase in females that have specifically been experiencing dizziness without a known cause or solution. Focusing on autonomic regulation, ATP support for mitochondrial function, and cotreating with neuro optometrists seems to be highly successful. Hoping for some female specific studies on long covid because of how it impacts the female hormones

The winter solstice marks a turning point, not a transformation.

The longest night has passed.
The light is returning—slowly, steadily, without urgency.

You don’t need optimism to be part of this.
You don’t need faith or festivity.

Only presence.
The light will come back whether you watch for it or not.

Those who have work on their heart and pericardium with me, this imagery of an animal heart and pericardium give a more realistic image of the pericardium than a drawing of a human one in a text book.

Watching the earth’s magnetic field process and recover from exposure to the coronal mass ejection from the sun is just magnificent. It’s like witnessing the planet’s internal processing/self healing and feels nothing short of sacred. I know so many of my patients see amazing colors during their sessions with me. I see them when I do my own processing as well. The hot pinks, my favorite colors, brought me to tears tonight. Awestruck 🩷😍🌌

I participated in an amazing course last week: Craniosacral Touching The Brain: The Glial Interface. The glial cells can be thought of as the glue or the fascia of the central nervous system. They give us a way to work with the tissues of the central nervous system in a mechanical way.

This allows us to address things like the glymphatic system (part of the immune system for the brain and spinal cord), the blood brain barrier, and myelin with manual therapy.

So grateful to Tad Wanveer for developing this material and to Liz Brinson for teaching us this past weekend.

This class was truly transformational and life changing for me. I’m so lucky that my learning sometimes doubles as part of my own personal healing journey.💞💞💞

I have already started using this work with some amazing results and share it with all of my clients!! 💓💓💓

28 years ago today was the event that became the catalyst for the formation of Body and Mind. My practice methods and techniques have changed and expanded over the years but my focus of helping others heal from trauma has always remained the same. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way and to everyone who has trusted Body and Mind with their care 💓💓💓
