You may be approached to sign this petition and they are telling lies to get you to sign as they get paid per signature plus bonus from what I gather. These signature seekers mostly are from out of state and don't really care how this will impact real people here in Maine. A corporation is behind it with maybe a pastor or two but it's not good for Maine as will greatly impact a super strong revenue stream for Mainers but also will greatly effect patients, tourism and much more if passed so, it needs strong opposition. I've been in this industry ( as it's referred to now) but for me I'm still a caregiver who believes greatly in this plant and its power to heal people holistically. Mind you I was a strong opponent to adult use as I am more into the medical side as it saved my life. Here I am defending not for me but for those who have invested greatly, for their employees, for all of us as it is the largest agricultural tax revenue for the state and honestly I don't know if this state could survive and thrive without that tax revenue from both medical and adult use (especially with government careless spending). So my friends, neighbors, and Mainers educate yourself and vote accordingly but let's just stop it at the gate by not letting them get enough signatures to put it on the ballot in the first place. This will be hard as the organization behind this has put over 2,000,000 into this campaign. What gets me too is bellows was asked about this and stated "it's ok to lie under the first amendment " this when informed of their lies to get signatures. Ultimately there is something larger going on here but I'll keep digging into it. Just don't sign!
The 21st there is a gathering at the hall of flags in Augusta and if you care about this , I encourage you to show up and voice your concerns!
