Andrea Fjelstul-Bonert, MD, a CRISP scholar and family medicine resident, is passionate about improving health care access in rural communities.

Through CRISP, she launched a project giving first-year medical students early exposure to rural practice and helped create a statewide mentorship list for those interested in rural medicine. Looking ahead, Fjelstul-Bonert sees herself practicing near her hometown of Hopkinton, Iowa, taking care of entire families.
