Today was a truly special day at our community.
We had the honor of celebrating three of our beloved residents — Bob, Joseph, and Vern — who were recognized for their military service during a moving Quilts of Honor ceremony.
The mission of Quilts of Honor is to present a tangible symbol of gratitude, comfort, and remembrance to the brave men and women who have stood in harm’s way to protect our freedoms. Each quilt is lovingly handmade by the dedicated volunteers of the Windsor Locks Senior Center quilting group — every stitch woven with appreciation, respect, and love for those who have served.
Our community was filled with warmth and pride as Windsor Locks students, the school superintendent, state dignitaries, members of the police and fire departments, families, and residents all came together to pay tribute to these heroes.
To Bob, Joseph, and Vern — thank you for your courage, your service, and your sacrifice. Today, and always, we honor you. 🇺🇸
