Madison facilitated a self-care and empowerment workshop for elementary schoolers! They discussed what self-care is, healthy ways they could engage in self-care using music, and even chanted their own positive mantras!

The Educator Wellness Experience workshop had such an amazing turn out last Friday! Mellany facilitated short music-centered experientials for educators AND encouraged attendees to participate in a guided-relaxation with music, mindfulness with art and music, and reflection on what self-care and burnout prevention could entail using music. Thank you to The Collective Space for having us! We are so grateful to be part of such a caring community!

We're so excited to introduce DeVonté Kunzika (he/they)! He is an AMAZING performer, instrumentalist, songwriter, and teacher -- He'll be joining the Melodic Goals team as our bass guitar and songwriting instructor! A little about DeVonté:

"I have been honing my craft for over a decade and after becoming the Poetry Out Loud State Champion in 2017, began sharing more of my writings. You can hear my performances at open mics, fundraisers, and art gallery across CT, as well as online as Dear Devonte on Instagram & YouTube.

When I'm not working, I can be found amongst the library shelves and crocheting with my pop up shop Kitoko Blooms."

Thank you University of St. Joseph and the SYC Early Childhood Symposium for having us yesterday! Mellany had the honor of presenting at this symposium for the third year in a row! This year's presentation focused on providing musical resources (through a clinical lens) to educators related to social and emotional learning! We had an amazing time!
