Today, we’re proud to recognize the incredible teamwork and dedication of our first responders.

Earlier this year, our ambulance crews and Windsor police officers responded to a call for an unresponsive patient who went into cardiac arrest. Thanks to their quick actions, strong communication, and seamless teamwork, they were able to provide lifesaving care right away.

Because of their efforts, that patient not only survived—but was later discharged home with no neurological deficits. In simple terms, they made a full recovery and returned to their normal life.

This kind of outcome doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of training, trust, and collaboration between agencies working side by side when every second counts.

Today, we honor these responders with lifesaving awards in recognition of their skill, professionalism, and commitment to our community.

🚑 Exciting News for Windsor EMS! 🚑

After almost two years of waiting, our new fleet of ambulances has officially arrived! All five new ambulances are now here and are in the final stages of radio installation, equipment setup, and required state inspections.

We’re excited to share that the first ambulance will be placed into service today, with the remaining units going into service over the next couple of weeks.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Town of Windsor for their continued support in acquiring these new ambulances. Your commitment helps ensure our crews have the tools they need to serve the community safely and effectively.

While these ambulances bring a new look to Windsor EMS, their true value is in how they will help us continue providing the highest level of pre-hospital care to the residents of Windsor.

Please join us in congratulating Paramedic Joe Molleur on the completion of his Paramedic precepting process! Paramedic Molleur joined the WEMS team in September of 2024 as a Per Diem Paramedic. He has committed many hours of hard work to his training, and we are pleased to announce that he is fully authorized for independent practice with medical control through Hartford Hospital. We look forward to his continued growth as a Paramedic! 🎉🚑

The Windsor Health Department is offering a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training class to interested residents on Tuesday, February 25 from 7 PM to 9 PM. This program is designed to teach people to identify warning signs of su***de, persuade the person to get help, and refer the person to appropriate resources.
