Lyons Optometry About Dr. Kimberly Lyons Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Kimberly Lyons is a proud California native. and active military at Camp Pendleton.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physiological Science from UCLA in 1999, followed by her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2005. Dr. Lyons has served veterans at the VA Hospital in West L.A. Before moving to Sonoma County, she spent over six years as Executive Director and Optometrist at a leading ophthalmology practice in Newport Beach—an experience that gave her advanced medical training few optometrists receive. Her clinical expertise includes everything from glasses and contact lens fittings to the treatment of eye diseases like glaucoma, severe dry eye, and eye allergies. She also offers pre- and post-op care for LASIK and other eye surgeries. Dr. Lyons is passionate about providing top-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages right here in Sonoma County.

We are delighted to introduce Dr. Julie Ring, the newest optometrist at Lyons Optometry. ✨

Originally from Napa, Dr. Ring’s path to eye care is both personal and deeply meaningful. Having worn glasses since the age of two due to amblyopia, she understands firsthand how life changing early diagnosis and thoughtful care can be. That experience inspired her lifelong passion for science, patient connection, and helping others see clearly.

Dr. Ring earned her degree from UC Davis before completing her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry. She brings clinical expertise in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, and glaucoma management, along with a genuine love for building relationships with her patients.

Outside the office, you might find her bowling in her league at Windsor Bowl, enjoying a good book, drawing, or spending time with her cat, Isabelle.

We are so excited to welcome her to the Lyons family and know our patients will feel right at home in her care.
