CHR is advocating at the Capitol!

CHR recently attended Non-Profit Day at the Capitol, organized by The Alliance: The Voice of Community Nonprofits, alongside 65 other organizations dedicated to strengthening communities across the state. Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to connect directly with local policymakers including Gordon for Senate, underscoring the vital importance of continued funding and the meaningful impact CHR has on people’s lives every day.

It was great to get out into the heart of Connecticut and advocate, educate, and collaborate with others.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This year, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center NSVRC is 25 Years Stronger, reminding us that progress happens when people show, speak up, and support one another. Healing doesn’t look the same for everyone, and no one has to navigate it alone.

Whether you’re seeking support, learning how to help someone you care about, or looking to get involved there are resources available for you. Strength isn’t just about awareness, it’s about access, compassion, and connection. Together, we can continue building safer spaces, supporting survivors, and creating change that lasts.

If you or someone you know needs support, reaching out is a powerful first step. You are not alone. 🩵
