ECU Health Bertie Hospital is accepting letters of intent for the 2026 - 27 Community Benefit Grants Program cycle. Grants support projects in Bertie and Martin counties in the program's health-related focus areas:

• Access to care
• Healthy living
• Mental health and substance misuse
• Sexual health

This program is supported by ECU Health and the ECU Health Foundation in an effort to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina.

Medicare’s annual open enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.

Senior’s Health Insurance Information Plan (SHIIP) counselors can help you find the best Medicare Prescription Drug Plan for 2026.

Appointments are free but you must schedule by calling 252-209-7213. Trained SHIIP counselors offer unbiased information about Medicare and can assist with enrollment and subsidy applications that could save you money. Changes will be effective Jan. 1, 2026.

We are to be the official health care provider for the Bertie Falcons!

At ECU Health Night, we were proud to recognize Bertie High Schools Certified Athletic Trainer Marlee Stalls. Marlee is a health care provider who is dedicated to student athletes by providing on-site care at events and on-going rehabilitation.

Stalls works closely with members of the ECU Health team to ensure students receive the best possible health care. Thank you to Marlee for your service to local student athletes!

Recently, ECU Health Bertie Hospital unveiled its newly renovated CT Unit — bringing cutting-edge imaging technology to our community!

We celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring hospital and community leaders. The new CT scanner offers better image quality, lower radiation and AI-powered precision — plus a more comfortable experience for patients.
