Sometimes they wonder if they are crazy. Often they are treated as "mentally ill" by healthcare providers. Disturbing experiences can be a doorway to exceptional functioning if cared for appropriately. About 1 in 4 people in the USA are taking one or more psychiatric drugs. These drugs, taken long-term, often reduce longevity by 20-25 years, erode physical systems and mental functioning. For some people they are powerfully positive; for others intolerable. An 'INTEGRATIVE' approach finds and treats the cause of mental and emotional distress on a physical level, in the stresses of life, and in our quest for meaning and purpose—using the most effective treatments available around the world. Full recovery is possible with an integrative approach. IMHU is an education and research oriented organization. 🌱 Are you seeking a grounded, psychologically informed way to understand spiritual awakening and spiritual crisis? This upcoming online course, led by Emma Bragdon, offers a thoughtful and practical introduction to a field that is increasingly relevant for practitioners, caregivers, and individuals alike.

* How to assess situations carefully and offer appropriate, ethical support.
* Common catalysts for spiritual awakening, and why such experiences are becoming more frequent.
* How to care for others in spiritual crisis, while also caring for oneself as a support person.
