Due to the weather, we will be adjusting our Easter activities planned for this afternoon.

All activities will be held indoors, and we’d still love for you to join us.

✨ We will be handing out popcorn and candy from 4:30pm-5:15pm at the Bleckley main entrance
🐰 The Easter Bunny will be here for visits and photos
🎁 We’ll also have 4 Easter Egg Hunt raffle baskets — be sure to stop by and put your name in for a chance to win!

Today is Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day! We are so thankful for our awesome Maintenance team at KVH! 🥳
Wes, Kenny, Dalton, Scott, Walt, Mike, Bryan, Damein, and Leonard are hard at work behind the scenes daily in order to keep our building running smoothly. 👷‍♂️👨‍🔧🔨

Some common tasks they are busy performing: repairing walls, repairing and adjusting beds, repairing and unclogging toilets, repairing walls, moving furniture, repairing furniture, hanging pictures, repairing medical equipment, installing safety equipment, repairing and unclogging sinks, changing light bulbs, assembling resident furniture, and setting up for parties.

Our Maintenance Team members are also the ones that withstand the cold temperatures to ensure our sidewalks are clear during snowstorms, and work under the sun keeping the grass mowed.

The KVH Maintenance Team is always there for us in a crunch! And we are so grateful for their hard work. Thank a Maintenance Team member today! 😀

Today is National Chaplain Appreciation Day and we are proud to honor Rev. Raymond Dempsey for his 8 years of KVH Service!

Chaplain Dempsey provides exceptional spiritual and emotional care, guidance, and support for our Veterans!

He leads Bible Study every Tuesday and Thursday, leads a church service every Sunday, provides a communion opportunity monthly, and leads a monthly and annual memorial service.
You may recognize Chaplain Dempsey by his deep voice that needs no microphone as he leads residents in song and hymn. A couple of his favorites are Old Rugged Cross and Blessed Assurance.
Chaplain Dempsey also enjoys shooting pool with our Veterans. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family and golfing.

Thank you, Chaplain Dempsey, for your service and excellent care for our residents!

Friday January 23rd, 2026, was a special day at the Kansas Veterans’ Home as we hosted the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) cadets from Wichita North High School for a Big Candy Bar Bingo event with our veterans.
These young leaders brought kindness, conversation, and lots of smiles. Thank you for honoring our veterans and making their day brighter.
