Gary Wayne “Goldie” Tucker, age 66, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his residence. He was born on February 28, 1959, to Grady and Ada Colburn Tucker. Goldie was the proud owner and operator of Goldie’s Smokehouse in Eldridge for many years before later working with Drummond Coal Company. He also managed a mobile home set-up crew for many years. Goldie valued an honest day’s work and enjoyed the friendships and memories made along the way. Outside of work, Goldie found joy in his old car collection and treasured the time he spent with his family.
Goldie is survived by his children, Daniel Tucker (Estelle) of Eldridge and Rhonda Dover (Zachary) of Berry; grandchildren, Haley Smith (Houston), Rachel Conner (Cody), and Zane and Zoey Dover; honorary grandchild, Charlie Wager; great-grandchild, Georgia Smith, with another blessing on the way; siblings, Audrie “Stock” Tucker, Buddy Tucker, “Clyde” Eddie Tucker, Jerry Tucker, Ronnie Gilbert, Patricia “Bloss” McCollum, Betty Jo Gilbert, Lynn Dozier, and Carol Kelly, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Goldie was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette E. Tucker; his parents; brother, James Tucker; and sister, Evelyn Kimbrell.
Funeral services for Goldie will be held on Saturday, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walk of Faith Church near Kansas, with burial to follow in the Tidwell Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family requests donations be made to Walk of Faith Ministries or the Walk of Faith Food Bank, in honor Goldie

Mr. Stanley Dwight Herren Sr., age 72, of Brilliant passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Herren was born in Fayette, Alabama on October 28, 1952 to Charles Albert Sr. and Bobbie McCaleb Herren. He attended Hubbertville High School and later earned his GED. Stanley worked for many years with Continental Conveyor as a maintenance foreman until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He also enjoyed Alabama football, computer technology, and spending time with his family and 2 dogs, Bama and Dolly.
Mr. Herren is survived by his son, Dwight Herren, his sister, Amelia Tucker (Jimmy), brothers-in-law, Mark Conway (Lisa) and Danny Conway, nieces and nephews, Annette Dozier, Glennette Barnes (Rusty), Wade Tucker (Gina), Amber Niday (Joey), Jamie Hawkins (Dustin), Chris Herren, Wayne Herren (Ingrid), Bobbie Base, and Darlene Detlefson, and a host of other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Herren was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Herren, 2 infant sons, Brian and Patrick Herren, brother, Charles Albert Herren Jr., and sister, Julia Faye Jones.
Funeral services for Mr. Herren will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd at 1:00 p.m. from the Miles Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Martha Faye Estes Smith, a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Martha passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 87, with family by her bedside.

She was the cherished soulmate of her spouse Kevin Assmann, with whom she shared 42 years of love and partnership.

Martha loved her family and friends, spending time with them. She was a woman of strong faith, member of Christ United Church, Mobile, Alabama. She loved boating, exercising, dining out, patronizing every new restaurant!She worked for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, South Alabama Boys and Girls Club and later retired from Volunteer Mobile as an executive clerk. She directed the annual Charity Sales, managed court appointed volunteers with kindness and a caring heart. Known for her infectious personality, Martha was the most caring and loving person to her friends, treating them as family. She adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews loving them fiercely and with pride. Family traditions, particularly our Christmas rituals at Orange Beach, Alabama.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Garvis and Daisy Estes, husband, Riley (Buddy) Smith, Infant sister, Willie Mae, and Son, Dr. Steven Smith.

She is survived by her spouse, Kevin Assmann; Daughter, Roxanne McCrory (Mark); Brothers, Larry Estes (Paulette) and Stanley Estes (Ginger); Grandchildren, Michelle Canterbury (Randall), Melissa McCrory and Jason McCrory; Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday July 17, 2025, at Christ United Church 6101 Grelot Rd. Mobile, AL 36609. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 2 PM (Parlor) and memorial service to begin at 2 PM in the Sanctuary.

Another celebration of Life will be held at on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Miles Funeral Home, Winfield ALwith visitation from 1 PM – 2 PM. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at West Alabama Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Martha would like donations sent to Christ United Church 6101 Grelot Rd. Mobile, AL 36609Martha’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Mrs. Ruby Faye Goodwin Beasley, better known as Faye, age 89, of Winfield passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 in Diversicare of Winfield. Faye was born April 10, 1935 to Rufus and Adell Doss Goodwin, the third of six children. A member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Winfield, Faye was proudly one of the oldest members of her beloved church, with one of her favorite things there being Charles Lynn’s Sunday School class. She worked for many years as a cook in the Winfield Hospital, back in a different time when everyone in town ate lunch there. Faye was in church whenever the doors opened, she loved spending time with family, and marathon shopping trips. She would’ve worn a new outfit everyday if she could’ve and she wouldn’t leave the store until she walked every aisle “looking.” But you knew when you saw her, she would always be prim and proper with her ever-present lipstick on. Her great-grandsons were her biggest loves and “Lil Maw” was always spoiling them.
Faye was preceded in death by the love of her life, Virgle Beasley, her parents, sister, Joyce Franks, and brothers, Larry Goodwin, Bunt Goodwin, Ray Goodwin, and Roger Goodwin.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Shirley Norris (Jeff), granddaughters, Angel Sadberry (James) and Felicia McGuire (Jeremy), great-grandsons, Casen Sadberry, Kyler Sadberry, and Rett McGuire, sister-in-law, Helen Goodwin, her beloved niece, Michelle Bryant, and a host of other nieces, nephews and family members.
Funeral services for Faye will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of the Miles Memorial Funeral Home with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
