Gary Wayne “Goldie” Tucker, age 66, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his residence. He was born on February 28, 1959, to Grady and Ada Colburn Tucker. Goldie was the proud owner and operator of Goldie’s Smokehouse in Eldridge for many years before later working with Drummond Coal Company. He also managed a mobile home set-up crew for many years. Goldie valued an honest day’s work and enjoyed the friendships and memories made along the way. Outside of work, Goldie found joy in his old car collection and treasured the time he spent with his family.
Goldie is survived by his children, Daniel Tucker (Estelle) of Eldridge and Rhonda Dover (Zachary) of Berry; grandchildren, Haley Smith (Houston), Rachel Conner (Cody), and Zane and Zoey Dover; honorary grandchild, Charlie Wager; great-grandchild, Georgia Smith, with another blessing on the way; siblings, Audrie “Stock” Tucker, Buddy Tucker, “Clyde” Eddie Tucker, Jerry Tucker, Ronnie Gilbert, Patricia “Bloss” McCollum, Betty Jo Gilbert, Lynn Dozier, and Carol Kelly, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Goldie was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette E. Tucker; his parents; brother, James Tucker; and sister, Evelyn Kimbrell.
Funeral services for Goldie will be held on Saturday, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walk of Faith Church near Kansas, with burial to follow in the Tidwell Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the church.
