Faribault County has lost one of its greatest champions for community and small business. Bob Weerts dedicated his life to building up our local towns, supporting the people behind every storefront and reminding us all of the power of small-town pride. His generosity, advocacy and belief in the success of small businesses helped shape the heart of our communities.

As a show of gratitude for all Bob did to strengthen and support Faribault County, local businesses are invited to display signs in their windows over the next few weeks. It's a small way to honor a man whose impact was anything but small.

Thank you, Bob, for believing in us-and for leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire growth, connection, and community spirit.
(written by Morgan Myers of Ryno Repair)

Copies of the poster (designed by Lily Stevermer) have been emailed to members of the Winnebago Community Club and to the Blue Earth Chamber for distribution to Blue Earth businesses. If you have not received a copy and would like one, please reach out to Heidi at Heartland Healthcare or to Morgan Myers at Ryno Repair. We would be happy to forward it.

The community of Winnebago lost an entrepreneur and local icon Wednesday evening. Bob Weerts played a huge role in the founding of Heartland Healthcare, particularly our Winnebago location. Bob often said he didn't do any of it for praise, accolades, or anything in return. He just believed in the power of a simple "thank you." Please join us in praying for his family during this difficult time. And Bob... thank you!

And this week it's USC's turn. Have a great homecoming week, Rebels! Feel free to share your dress up day photos in the comments!

Homecoming is just around the corner (September 29–October 3, 2025), and we are excited for a fun-filled week of activities celebrating our school spirit and pride in USC! Students are encouraged to join the celebration by participating in our themed dress-up days. Let’s work together to make Homecoming Week a memorable celebration of our students, our school, and our community.
