At Winner Regional Health, our Long Term Care team believes healthcare is more than treatment — it’s compassion, dignity, and presence during life’s most important moments.

One family recently shared this heartfelt message about their experience at Winner Regional Health’s Long Term Care unit. We are honored to share their words:

"Dad had been living at Golden Prairie Manor for a couple years. After a fall and some associated medical issues, he was in and out of the hospital and long term care until he passed. I had visited him a number of times while he was in the care of both facilities. During these visits, he mentioned a number of times how he was very impressed with the care he was receiving and how personable the staff was to him. It was easy for me to see why he thought so much of your staff. Not only were they professional, but in addition, there was kindness, politeness and caring during every interaction. Interestingly, this atmosphere was present with everyone from the cleaning staff all the way to the doctor and everyone in between. They went out of their way to assist my family, especially during the last hours of dad’s life.

In closing, I wanted to thank the Winner Hospital and Long Term Care for the excellent care and treatment my dad received while he was in your facilities. My family and I greatly appreciate it."

To this family — thank you for trusting us with your dad’s care and for allowing us to walk alongside you during such a meaningful time.

To our team — this is what healthcare excellence looks like: professionalism paired with genuine kindness.

❤️ February is National Heart Month ❤️

Your heart works hard for you every day — make sure you’re taking care of it in return.

Regular physical activity is one of the most effective ways to improve cardiovascular health, lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, and decrease your risk of heart disease.

Weekly exercise recommendations for adults include:

✔ 150–300 minutes of moderate aerobic activity
or
✔ 75–150 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity
(Examples: walking, cycling, swimming)

PLUS

✔ Strength training at least 2 days per week
(Target all major muscle groups)

If pain, injury, or uncertainty about where to start is holding you back, you don’t have to figure it out alone. A physical therapist can help you build a safe, personalized plan to improve your heart health and overall fitness.

📞 Call 605-842-7304 to get started.

This February, make your heart a priority. 💙
