Anthony Lynn McGovern

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Lynn McGovern, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on April 22, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on July 20, 1964, in Winnsboro, Texas, Anthony lived a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories.

Anthony was a man of simple pleasures who brought joy to those around him. He had a passion for the great outdoors; whether it was hunting in the piney woods or casting a line on a sunny day, he found peace and happiness in nature. He loved going hunting, especially with his boys. He loved watching Tony and Bryce sing and play their guitars. He was always proud to watch them perform. He did his best to be at every ball game or school event for his grandkids and those are memories his daughters will cherish forever. Many will remember how he loved to take his grandkids along with him to work at Triangle Feed Company, sharing moments of laughter and learning that they will hold close forever.

His spirit was fueled by speed. Dirt track racing held a special place in his heart. For about six years, he participated in races, relishing the thrill.

Anthony held many positions within the community. He was a devoted member of the East Point Missionary Baptist church, where he volunteered to help with many events.

Aside from working at Triangle Feed, in earlier years, he served his community by driving a bus for the Winnsboro School District and also held a position as a member of the volunteer fire department in Ogburn.

Anthony was a devoted family man.

He loved having cookouts and spending time with his family.

He adored his wife, Deloris, and they shared a bond that was evident to all who knew them. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories and imparting his wisdom and love.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Deloris McGovern; the man he looked up to most, his father, Tony McGovern; his cherished sons, Tony and his wife Heather, Bryce and his wife Brianna and Charles; his cherished daughters, Margie and her husband Cody and Kelsey and her husband Marco. He is survived by his cherished grandchildren: Conner, Micheal, Raelynn, Cody, Eli, Briar, Caleb, Aubrey, Madison, Alex, and Addyson. Lastly he is survived by many other life long friends within the community.

Anthony's memory will be honored at a memorial service scheduled for April 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived, filled with joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love.

In the style Anthony would have appreciated, let us remember him for the laughter, the stories shared, and the incredible moments spent together. He may no longer walk among us, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts. Rest easy, Anthony; you are greatly loved and will always be remembered.

Anthony was preceded in death by: his mother, Diana Pinson McGovern.

Betty Dewine "Dean" Arnett

Betty Dewine "Dean" Arnett was born on July 3, 1937, in Wood County, and passed away on April 19, 2026. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and a deep joy for being together. To many she was Betty, known at work and at church, but to those who loved her most, she was Dean.

In 1957, Betty met the love of her life, Edward Arnett, in Dallas, Texas. They married on March 22, 1958, and shared 67 years of marriage. In 1959, they purchased their home on Sheryl Drive in Mesquite, where they built a life together and created a place of welcome and support for family and friends for more than sixty years.

Betty worked in downtown Dallas, first as a secretary for an insurance company and later at the Dallas County Courthouse, where she worked until her retirement. She was known for her consistency, reliability, and quiet dedication.

She was actively involved in church throughout her life, first at Wildwood Baptist Church and later at Oates Drive Baptist Church, where she built lasting relationships rooted in faith and fellowship.

Dean enjoyed shopping, spending time with family, and gathering with loved ones to cheer on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Her birthday, July 3rd, became a cherished family tradition, bringing everyone together each year at the family farm. She was also known for marking special occasions with a "little something," creating lasting memories for those she loved.

Though she never had children of her own, she invested deeply in her nieces and nephews, who loved her like a second mother.

Betty is survived by her sister, Janice Bates and husband Henry; her brother, Mack Williams and wife Kathy; her brother-in-law, Joe Pearce; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Caver; her close friend, Mavis Ware; and many nieces and nephews in both the Arnett and Williams families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Arnett; her parents, Frank and LaVerne Williams; and her sisters, Peggy Merlene and Kathy Joy Pearce.

Betty will be remembered for her faith, her steadiness, and the way she made others feel cared for. She loved us all a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.

Even in her final days, as we told her we loved her, she repeated the words that carried through all of our lives...

"I love you MORE!"

Frank Edward Hollis

With heavy hearts yet joyful spirits, we celebrate the life of Frank Edward Hollis, who left this world peacefully on April 12, 2026, at the age of 70. Frank was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, and cherished his friends. He made Winnsboro, Texas, his home after retiring, but his heart forever belonged to Alaska, where he created countless memories, his “True Love”.

Frank was born on September 20, 1955, in Carlsbad, New Mexico and graduated from Carlsbad High School, where he graduated in 1973, then proudly serving in the United States Army from June 1973 to 1977. It was during his time stationed in Alaska that he met and married his beloved wife, Nancy of fifty years, on July 9, 1976, at the end of the Alaska Highway in Delta Junction, a Yankee no less. Frank embraced the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness, indulging in his passions for camping, fishing, and hunting.

He worked at Clear Air Force Station as a federal contractor in telecommunications, Frank dedicated over three decades to his career before retiring in 2011. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 959 and continued to inspire those around him. In 1978, he welcomed his daughter, Jessica, due to work obligations, he did not meet her until she was 10 days old. He was later blessed with two sons, Christopher and James. His nurturing spirit played a significant role in shaping the lives of his children, who grew to become successful and accomplished individuals.

Frank created many unforgettable memories with his friends and family. In the early 1980s, he won a raffle that allowed him to purchase his first boat. His wife, children, and friends joined him in enjoying the beautiful lakes and rivers of Alaska. One of his favorite river camping sites earned the nickname “Pest Bear Slough.” He loved salmon and halibut fishing, and his hunting adventures included bear, caribou, bison, and moose. He harvested a grizzly bear, which remains displayed in the home, and trapped a black wolf, now a full mount in the living room that startles many visitors. Another unique experience came when he purchased a military SUSV tracked vehicle. Over the years, comfort became more important than roughing it in the wild, and he upgraded to large tents with cots and a stove for heat that he called “luxury living.”

In 2013, following his retirement, he relocated to Winnsboro, Texas, having grown tired of the long, cold Alaskan winters, though he always loved returning in the summer months. In his first year, he tried raising beef cattle but quickly decided farming was not for him. He later purchased a pontoon boat and enjoyed fishing at Lake Fork. Frank was a wonderful friend, always willing to help those in need. It was not uncommon for him to rescue someone with a broken-down vehicle in 50 below weather or assist those stranded on the river.

Frank lived life to the fullest, and though his physical presence will be profoundly missed, his spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of his loving wife, Nancy; his sons, Christopher Hollis & partner Kaira Palaniuk; and James Hollis; his sisters, Patricia Hollis, Linda Lunsford & husband Danny Lunsford, Gay West & husband Rocky West, and Sherry Lynch & husband Bill Lynch; brother-in-law Tommy Ray & wife Cindy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and all who were blessed to know him.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald & Ruth Hollis; his daughter, Jessica Hollis; and his brother, John Hollis; niece; Beth Brininstool.

In July, Frank’s ashes will be lovingly spread at his favorite fishing and hunting spots in Alaska and Texas, honoring the places he enjoyed most. A family gathering will follow in September, where stories will be shared, laughter will abound, and Frank’s legacy will be cherished.
