Winona ORC Industries

Winona ORC Industries Winona ORC is the community leader in providing job opportunities for people with disabilities.

Winona ORC provides job-related skills training, vocational counseling and meaningful employment. Since 1973, Winona ORC has been dedicated to securing work and providing vocational training for adults with disabilities. Over the last two years we have implemented a change in the organization's leadership as well as changes in the Winona ORC staff, which have helped to re-energize the entire entity. Many old problems have been addressed and corrected and new opportunities have been explored, resulting in additional revenue and operational changes that have produced greater efficiency.

Here are the top finishers from our Starlight Stroll last Friday that had 185 registered racers.

Our top male finishers: Jeffrey and Jordan Bergeman.
Jordan, Jeffrey's father, shared, "Jeffery is the runner, I am not. Jeffrey's love of endurance events has inspired me." Jordan also shared that they have done events from distances of 1 mile to a 50 mile ultra. They have completed two of Jeffery's goals: Ironman, WI and the Boston Marathon. Jeffery's next goal is to complete the Abbott World Marathons. So far, they have completed 2 out of the 6 marathons. Jeffery and his family traveled from the Eau Claire area to participate in our Starlight Stroll this year. Fueled by Faith is their motto and look to Matthew 19:26.

Brooke Hemann was our top female finisher.
Brooke is a freshman at Winona State University and majoring in nursing. She enjoys running now in her free time. Brooke is from Bloomington and ran cross country and track at Jefferson High School. She wanted to share a special shout out to Caroline and Bethany for supporting her throughout the race.

Samuel Bergeman (brother to Jeffery) was the top youth finisher. He is an 8th grader that loves to run. He participates in cross country and track. He also plays basketball. He is looking forward to continuing to run in high school and see where that takes him. He may run at a college some day.

Many thanks to all that participated!
