The Greater Minnesota Transit Plan (GMTP) aims to update MnDOT's transit policies, assess mobility needs, and establish goals and strategies for public transit in both rural and urban regions. It promotes coordinated, equitable, and innovative mobility, reflecting recent trends and guiding post-COVID-19 transit priorities. The GMTP will develop clear metrics for evaluating policy implementation, with MnDOT's Office of Transit and Active Transportation collaborating with various stakeholders to shape the future of transit in Greater Minnesota. The plan builds on previous related plans to create comprehensive transit strategies and recommendations.

On Friday, November 8th, residents at Callista Court, Benedictine Living Community-Winona, learned about Winona Transit. They got instructions on how to read the schedule, where they can go and first had introduction to our buses. Couldn't ask for nicer weather. Thank you Benedictine for having us. Next presentation will be a 9:30 am, Thursday November 14 at Sobieski Lodge thanks to the Friendship Center and Winona Park & Recreation.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Minnesota Public Transit Association conference. This was my first time in Mankato and a great experience. This was an opportunity to see the latest transit equipment, get advice from my peers and take in some interesting classes and speakers. The more I learn the better I can serve the people of Winona.

We want to sincerely thank Girl Scout Troop 44763 for having Coordinator Cassie Ferriss in to talk about Winona's bus routes. The troop then used their new knowledge to plan an outing to the Farmers’ Market using Winona Transit. Nice Job Ladies! And nice job to the troop leaders for coming up with this activity that teaches how public transit works. A useful skill indeed.
