Teamwork is kind of our thing in Women’s Health… turns out it works pretty well in the grocery aisles too! 🛒💨

Dr. Heslinger and Katie Duerr, CNM sprinted the aisles during the WNB Financial Grocery Grab—with Katie grabbing items from the shelves while Dr. Heslinger kept the carts rolling—all with just 90 seconds on the clock.

The goal? Gather as many (in our case) healthy food and personal care items as possible for the Winona Volunteer Services Food Shelf.

And thanks to a little Cart Cam, you get to ride along for the action. 🎥

Together, participating teams gathered $7,926.32 in groceries—totaling 1,611 pounds of food for the food shelf. ❤️

Our Emergency Department recently hosted a community training event in our Simulation Lab, offering free cardiac and stroke-focused EMS education for local ambulance, fire, and first responder departments.

The session was led by Kara Bayer, AVP of Hospital Services, Andy Teska, Director of Emergency Services, and Dr. Christopher Watras, Emergency Department Physician—strengthening the teamwork and coordination that can make all the difference in an emergency.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the caregivers who shared their expertise to support our community responders. 💙

IN THE NEWS: Beginning this fall, we will offer our fifth School-Based Health Clinic location serving students at Cotter Schools! Our School-Based Health Clinics provide students with convenient, high-quality healthcare right at school. They can be used just like a visit at Winona Health and help make it easier for students to access the care they need while staying focused on learning. 💙

Cotter Schools plans to offer a school-based health clinic through Winona Health beginning this fall, giving students access to primary and behavioral health services on its campus.

There’s still time to apply for the Phyllis A. McClenathan Nursing Scholarship!

Are you a nursing student entering your final year? This scholarship was created to support you as you take that last big step toward becoming a nurse.

 Applications are due March 31.

Phyllis A. McClenathan was a long-term Winona Health FBC nurse who provided compassionate care in our Family Birth Center for 20 years, and passed away in
January 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Established by her husband, Dean
McClenathan, and their children through the Winona Health Foundation, this scholarship honors her legacy of excellence and heartfelt care.

It’s more than a scholarship — it’s a way to carry forward the kind of compassion that changes lives.
