Thank you, Mia! Mia stopped by DeBeen WS on Mon afternoon.

She says, "Every time I’m in Winston-Salem, I stop by DeBeen! I asked the barista to surprise me. She chose an amazing hot honey lavender latte with oat milk.

"The car I’m in is a modified Hyundai Elantra N. The car is for both pleasure and work! I train most of the Hyundai dealership sales teams in NC. The car is also my fun car and amazing for Sun drives.

"I love supporting local spots. You guys are just absolutely amazing! I also bought a pound of beans. This time, I went with Snowball Smores. (Which smells sooo good, super excited!)

"I took some photos of the coffee beans with my car. Outside of my husband, my two loves are coffee and cars. I love bringing that to life in photos!"

Join us this evening at DeBeen HP to Livestream the monks' loving-kindness meditation, and/or for a FREE guided meditation next door at Pure Light Yoga, 7:30-8 pm.

This evening's interfaith ceremony, gathering, and global community meditation concludes the Walk for Peace that passed through High Point a few weeks ago. Approximately 10k people attended at Truist Point Stadium or lined the streets through downtown High Point. 🙏🏽

The last few weeks have been great for curling up at home with a good book and a great cuppa your favorite brew from DeBeen Espresso. Maybe by the fireplace, gazing out at the falling snow.

What could be better? Socializing about books in our coffee shop in High Point! Come to our book club meeting at DeBeen HP next Mon, Feb 9, at 6 pm! The selected title is Pride by Zuri Benitez.

There’s still plenty of time to read, or at least get started, on this update of the literary classic, Pride and Prejudice, before Mon eve. Join us!

But on the topic of snow and Galentines, thank you to Taylor and Ilka, who stopped by DeBeen HP on Mon eve. It was Taylor's birthday!

She says: "We shared a large, hot, black and white mocha latte made with half-and-half (breve), and had it half-sweet. We were there late, celebrating my 28th birthday! Coffee at my favorite coffee spot before dinner at Blue Rock."

It's Tea Tuesday! Did you know that the tea we drink is closely related to the leaves of the camellia bushes that grow around the Triad? The botanical name for the tea plant is camellia sinensis.

❤️ Some local camellias blossom through winter! Fun fact: Tea is grown in eastern SC!

Swipe to see two types of Numi Organic Tea that you can enjoy at DeBeen. Both are shown with white camellia blossoms.

💚 Moroccan Mint with green tea. A classic that's refreshing hot or chilled. Try with honey, although it's also nice unsweetened.

🤍 Numi White Rose, made with white tea and delicate rosebuds. Numi says, "We blend subtle and fragrant white tea with spring-picked tender rosebuds to make this delicate, uplifting blend."

We have many types of Numi tea: bagged, loose-leaf, and herbal. We're happy to fix your tea hot or iced.

It’s prognosticating rodents day! It’s easy to predict that coffee is needed, right? Start your first Mon of Feb and snowy, chilly week with DeBeen!

From an astronomical point of view, today we're just about at the midpoint between the winter solstice and vernal equinox. Although we’re six weeks into meteorological winter or halfway through, with every day that follows we’re closer to spring.

Of course, we have to dig out first. But if you look around at nature in the Triad, you can find promising signs of spring.

🌅 Sunsets arrive later. We’ve gained nearly an hour since early Dec. We gain around two minutes of daylength daily through Feb.

🌞 The thaw is coming! They forecast highs in the 50s, maybe hitting 60, next week.

🌱 Birds will migrate back. Early blooming flowers will send up shoots. Gardeners will notice other changes soon, including when to plant seeds.

Look around you at the unfolding seasonal changes, coffee mug in hand! Feed your critter! Happy Groundhog Day!
