Synergy has always been more than a place to move our bodies.
Synergy really began to take shape in a pivotal time in my life- as I was nursing my baby on my porch in the summer of 2021, feeling the fullest joy I’d ever felt, and simultaneously a deep sense of suffering that stemmed from a lack of a sense of belonging as I was ushered out of one job, which was deeply intertwined to my sense of community, and into the abyss of the next.
Synergy is a space designed for communal wellness, and everything we do here and the intention of each teacher here is to guide us- the coaches themselves, too, in a practice for remembering that healing is not a solo act.
We are rooted in belonging.
In staying with what’s hard.
In doing the brave, often times uncomfortable work of unraveling ourselves until we arrive at what’s true.
And what continues to reveal itself is this: we belong to one another.
We are innately connected.
We are each other’s mirror in this work.
In between sled runs with my daughter Sunday afternoon I purchased an ‘Abide No Hatred’ flag, and while my initial inclination was to hang it outside my home, I have decided that when it arrives I will hang it at the studio.
There is no place for hatred here.
We will not tolerate it. We will actively interrupt those divisive and fear mongering narratives- because this is a space devoted to self-inquiry, accountability, respect and love. The practices we hold are meant to bring us closer to ourselves and to one another, not further apart.
We are here to help people become big.
To become strong.
To build the capacity to face life honestly and with courage.
And just as importantly, this is a refuge.
A landing place.
A safe, soft place to rest while doing the work.
You do not have to be hardened to be strong here.
This is a space to be challenged and held.
To be seen and to see one another clearly.
To practice connection- not as an idea, but as a lived and embodied experience.
We always say, Come as you are, and be willing to grow.
I’ve heard over and over in different seasons, that Hope is a group project.
Here’s where we can convene to unite efforts for this continual project.
