We are starting to plan the 2026 Miles for Migraine event in NC
it will be held 12 Sept 2026 Jamison Park

I am leading the Planning committee - let me know if you want to join us and I can give you additional information (Meeting virtually 1 Wed PM per month).

For all those of you that have not heard of this event - here is additional information:
Winston-Salem is one of only 14 locations nationwide hosting this event, and we draw participants from across North Carolina. This annual gathering brings together patients, caregivers, providers, and researchers to share their experiences and reconnect with the community. The event offers options to walk, run, or simply relax based on individual preference.

There will be a dedicated area for sponsors to host a tent and engage with community members. Attendance in past years has ranged from 300 to 500 participants from throughout the state.

This year, registration is free for those choosing to walk or relax, and early registration for runners is $12.01 through April 21st.

All proceeds from the event directly support the Comprehensive Headache Program at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. These funds are used to enhance our fellowship program, provide scholarships for conferences and investigator-initiated research, support team development, and ultimately improve patient care.

Yesterday was the the 19th Annual Headache on the Hill.

I had so many wonderful and memorable experiences in conversations yesterday. My team met with 12 offices in NC and RI. Logan and I dropped off information with offices that we did not he’s meetings with and had excellent conversations with Health Aides in and offices

I’m asking YOU to take one minute to contact your members of Congress and urge them to support the HEADACHE Act, the Safe Step Act, and the CONNECT for Health
Act.

These bills would make a real difference for me and for millions of people living with migraine and other headache disorders by improving access to care, treatment, and research.

Today is the 19th Annual Headache on the Hill.
I’m in Washington, DC proudly representing North Carolina meeting with Congressional offices to talk about legislation that impacts the more than 40 million Americans living with migraine and other headache disorders.

I’m one of over 300 advocates from across the country coming together to push for patient-centered policies, including:
• The HEADACHE Act – landmark legislation to strengthen federal research, data collection,
and public awareness around headache disorders
• The Safe Step Act – bipartisan reform of “fail first” insurance rules so patients can access the
treatments their doctors prescribe without unnecessary delays
• The CONNECT for Health Act – legislation to make key telehealth flexibilities permanent and
expand access to specialty care
