đââď¸ Calling all runners â class is in session! Dr. Ayana has a quick PSA for every distance runner out there:
Running alone isnât enough.
If youâre skipping leg day because you ârun a few times a week,â youâre actually putting yourself at higher risk for frequent injuries.
Your running muscles need strength outside of running:
â Glutes
â Hamstrings
â Quads
â Calves
â Hip stabilizers
When these arenât strong, your body has to compensate â and thatâs when the pain and injuries show up.

Strong runners â strong legs.
Skipping strength training â repeat injuries.
