Happy opening day to the Center for Thriving Children at Brookridge!

We can't stop thinking about the grand opening event last week -- so enjoy these photos, provided by our partner Imprints Cares.

This partnership has led to exciting things: a childcare center at Brookridge that provides intergenerational connections for our residents as well as reliable, on-site childcare for our team members.

Intergenerational connections are proven to benefit both little ones and seniors. And our team members are reaping the benefits too as we provide a tiered subsidy to offset the cost of childcare.

We built the center and are excited for Imprints Cares to operate it using their decades of childcare expertise. Today was their first day in operation and they are still taking enrollments.

Exciting progress is happening at Brookridge! 👷‍♀️🏗️

We’re thrilled to share a construction update on the EverTogether Residence, where the team at Landmark Builders is officially preparing the site for the next major milestone: laying the foundation. The foundation block and footings are now complete for the entire residence, an important step forward as this vision becomes a physical place.

The EverTogether Residence is a first-of-its-kind memory care model designed specifically for couples when one partner is living with dementia or other cognitive loss. Usually, a diagnosis forces couples to live apart. EverTogether was created to change that.

The EverTogether Residence will allow couples to continue living together, side-by-side, no matter how memory loss progresses. Instead of separating partners, this innovative model supports both individuals — preserving daily routines, shared moments, and the dignity of staying together.

The residence is designed as a circular building made up of 12 cozy homes, all connected by a central courtyard and shared community space. Each home includes a private, secure area for the partner living with dementia, while also allowing the independent living partner the freedom to come and go. A discreet inner core provides safe, efficient access for trained care team members to deliver personalized memory care services.

Seeing the foundation take shape is exciting for all of us. Stay tuned as we share more construction updates as things progress!

Congratulations to our Heart Health challenge medalists! 🏅

Residents pictured are, from left to right: Marti Kucera, Connie Turner, Bob Ferris, Rosie Shaw, and Ilene Pool. (Not pictured: Candi Tolar and Bob Day, Frank Hartman, Bonnie Doerr.) Winners accomplished walking at least one mile three times a week and some reached daily activity, up to three miles at a time. Other winners attended up to 10 classes per week!

Join us in congratulating the winners in the comments! And be sure to join us for March wellness events. We've got some exciting activities planned:

- Walking Club is back.
- (Hopefully) the pool will open for AquaFit & Water Walking.
- Woof Walks at Reynolda are back.
- NEW: Air Boxing Class (for Arthritis, Parkinson's, etc.) will begin Wednesday, March 4th.
- Cooking Demo with Chef Shane.
