Residents enjoyed a Forest Feast last week! Chef Shane Hamilton prepared a themed four-course chef's dinner with wine pairings. Chef's dinners is a new series that happen twice a year at each of our communities.

Brookridge’s resident volunteer group, Helping Hands, showed their appreciation for our maintenance team recently. On Friday they handed out Snow Kits with goodies for each team member.

We are thankful for our dedicated and hard working team that helped keep things running smoothly on campus with this weekend’s inclement weather!

The Center for Thriving Children is a partnership between ThriveMore and — and we are so excited for the intergenerational opportunities it will provide for both the kids and seniors.

And it’s a huge benefit for team members — Brookridge team members get priority enrollment and a fee subsidy for their kids and grandkids.

January is Brain Health Month, and at Brookridge we're embracing keeping our brains healthy. 🧠

Yesterday, Julie with Functional Pathways, under direction of Crystal McCord, presented a valuable Brain Health seminar followed by brain teasers, puzzle book gifts, and brain games to exercise the mind. Residents had fun and learned something new.

Residents recently attended a performance of Little Women, The Broadway Musical, presented by the Winston Salem Theatre Alliance. It was a lovely evening spent with friends.

We are so excited for the Center for Thriving Children to open its doors March 2. This is going to be a fantastic benefit to Winston-Salem and particularly to ThriveMore’s Brookridge community, both team members and residents. There are going to be some fantastic inter-generational opportunities that will benefit both children and seniors.

In just six months, lead gifts have propelled ThriveMore’s EverTogether campaign past the 80% mark — thanks to generous institutional partners including The Lutheran Foundation for Long Term Living, Reynolds American Foundation, The John and Anna Hanes Foundation, First Citizens bank, and The Winston-Salem Foundation.

EverTogether is a first-of-its-kind couples memory care residence being built at Brookridge in Winston-Salem. Instead of moving a person with dementia away from their partner into a separate unit, EverTogether keeps couples living together while each receives the specialized support they need.
