Gingerbread ferry that moves oh my! Building this ferry out of gingerbread and having it be able to move was a challenge all in its self. Episode 3 on on the overall build was all about transportation for your community we were creating. Many coastal communities have areas only accessible by ferry - some even transport cars. In creating this ferry we wanted it to be able to move because why not and so fun! We were given a challenge to have something move on that episode and our decorated tree central on the board was the main movement piece. It was awesome, no one saw it move due to television magic but worked hard on that beautiful tree🎄 Our ferry was to scale but was blocking the house so in a last minute decision I completely cut the top off and redesigned it!! Even making a seat cushion with detailed seams- I did not get an up close picture of that. But scroll right to see the car base that was under the ferry that enjoyed driving around the studio🤪 Fun to share some details that no way an hour episode, even four, can even share bc all the teams were working so hard :)

More than meets the eye at our wharf shops! Take a closer look at the gingerbread herringbone floors in the art gallery and the white gingerbread with black checkerboard pattern in the bakery. The dog portrait gallery featured ’s adorable digital art on edible icing sheets, framed to perfection. Agent, my pup, is part of the pack! Enjoy the details after a fantastic day (Team Coastal)

Let's give a moment to the church in our Team Coastal piece. In the land we created, inspired by Episode 1's story prompt 'A surprise proposal,' our newly engaged couple moves from the plinth to Episode 2, set in the quadrant 'Where We Shop & Play,' where they shop in front of the shops. We envisioned Episode 3 as the church where they'd get married - from proposal to wedding in their coastal community. Old coastal communities often have cemeteries with generations represented, places of comfort and love for those who've passed. Including this was important to us. Gingerbread tip: be patient, it's not a fast process. Each church roof tile was cut by hand for a weathered coastal effect. Tinted gingerbread for the walls was used so that when it came out of the oven no painting needed to happen. The grey gingerbread lightly browned in the baking process to add to our effort of looking worn. Another tip: the tree trunk is an extra-long cinnamon stick!

Spoiler alert- 🚨 The finale of Gingerbread Land on and was last night❤️🎄 Team Coastal was so honored to be a part of the finale- are you ready……. WE WON!!!! We are beyond thankful for this experience, each other, our families, all the other teams, the crew behind the scenes like (our awesome cameraman), (casting), (all things gingerbread land and cheerleader), catering, van drivers, the intern that went to get me eye wash after shooting royal icing in my eye😂 Producers, show runners, cleaning, lighting, art department man with extra long drill bit that was his personal one that he let us use, sooooo many things and people go into these shows. Thank you ❤️🎄 and know how much I love and am amazed by their skills - thank you for saying yes and WE DID IT:) love you Thank you for amazing set design and new show!! and for judging!! for being an awesome host and kept us laughing ❤️🎄Yay TEAM COASTAL🎄🤩
