Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) Officers are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 3600 block of Cedar Springs Drive. Mr. Lucas was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital with injuries that are considered non-life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as confirmed information becomes available.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
On November 15, 2025, at approximately 9:33 pm, officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) responded to a reported shooting at 3550 North Patterson Avenue, Winston-Salem. Upon arrival, officers located a Juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began life saving measures and the victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local medical facility. Despite life-saving efforts, the Juvenile succumbed to the injury.
The WSPD Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

WHERE: 1930 Bertha Street, Winston-Salem
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
On November 3, 2025, at approximately 3am, officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) responded to a reported shooting at 1930 Bertha Street. Upon arrival, officers located Cameron Demon Napper, Jr., a 19-year-old male, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded, and despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Napper was pronounced deceased at the scene. The WSPD Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The circumstances around the homicide are still being investigated.

The Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) is investigating a homicide that occurred October 16.
WHAT: Homicide

VICTIM – Meranda Lynn White, a 44-year-old female
INVOLVED OTHER - Temporarily Withheld
WHEN: October 16, 2025, at 8:48pm
WHERE: 700 block of Ferrell Court, Winston-Salem
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
On October 16, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) officers responded to a reported shooting in the 700 block of Ferrell Court. Upon arrival, officers located Meranda Lynn White, a 44-year-old female, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Ms. White was pronounced deceased. An additional individual was also located suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. As the investigation remains in its preliminary stages, the individual’s name is being temporarily withheld while detectives continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The WSPD Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Gregory Street. Upon arrival, officers located an individual, later identified as Marco Antonio Salazar Cano, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and transported Mr. Salazar Cano to a local medical facility, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The WSPD Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to the scene and is actively investigating.

Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) Officers are investigating a shooting in the 2500 block of Green Oaks Drive. Officers arrived on scene and located Mr. Smith suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Smith was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and his injuries are considered non-life threatening. The investigation is ongoing. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual, later identified as Deshaun Christian Capers, on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on scene. Mr. Capers was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Cameron Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located three (3) individuals— a 17-year-old, an 18-year-old, and a 23-year-old—lying outside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and pronounced all three (3) individuals deceased at the scene.

Initial information suggests a gathering was taking place at the location when the shooting occurred. At this time, it is unclear what led to the incident, and the relationship between the individuals involved remains unknown.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
On 08/01/2025 at 7:45 PM, Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 4800 block of Berl Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old Juvenile, on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on scene. The Juvenile was pronounced deceased at the scene.

WHAT: Homicide
WHO: VICTIM #1 - Tazhae Jamier Woods, 23-year old male.

VICTIM #3 - Brandon Terrell Ducket, 28-year old male.
VICTIM #4 - Yazlin Chegue Mendoza, 27-year old female.

WHEN: July 13, 2025, at 3:59 A.M.
WHERE: 71 Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
At approximately 3:59 A.M. on July 13, 2025, the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) responded to a report of a shooting at 71 Waughtown Street. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting in the parking lot and street in front of the business, Studio 71. While on the scene, two individuals - identified as Brandon Duckett and Yazlin Mendoza were located suffering from gunshot wounds. Forsyth County EMS responded and both victims were transported to a local hospital for their injuries, which are non-life threatening. A short time later, Tazhae Woods and Tremayne Butler arrived at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in a vehicle after leaving the area of 71 Waughtown Street. Mr. Woods, who had been shot, ultimately died injuries he received. Mr. Butler, who was also in a vehicle that was shot into, was not injured. The WSPD Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to the scene and is actively investigating this case. During the initial investigation this morning, it was estimated that approximately 150-200 people were present when the incident occurred. However, none of the witnesses were willing to provide information to assist detectives in understanding what took place. Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward and speak with local law enforcement.
