January 9,2024: Attention to Memo Below

Due to inclement weather United
Health Centers will be closed 1/9/2024. The center will reopen on Wednesday 1/10/24. Patient’s will be contacted to reschedule any appointments scheduled for 1/9/24. Please be safe and if you or family members are experiencing any type of Emergency please go the nearest hospital , contact 911 or for mental health crisis please dial 988.

According to the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence, in 2022 there were at least 47 homicides in North Carolina that were a direct result of domestic violence including 11 victims whose perpetrators died by su***de.
• There were 185,936 partner or family violence-related incidents between 2019 and 2021.
• There were almost 22,000 incidents of aggravated assault and homicide committed by a current or former intimate partner or family member during the 3-year period.
• Simple assault was the most common type of domestic and family
• 71% of survivors of domestic and family violence in 2021 were women.
• 81% of domestic and family violence incidents in 2021 occurred in a residence or home

United Health Centers is proud to be the safety net for our community as we continue our mission to provide equitable care to build healthier communities. We are grateful for our patients, staff and community partners.

United Health Centers-WS collaborated with Center Grove AME Zion Church, Forsyth County Department of Public Health Posse, and Hickory Grove AME Zion Church to host a HIV Testing. The event to raise awareness about the importance of HIV testing to fight the spread of the HIV virus. Additionally, we had diabetes and hypertensive screenings. Overall, we had a great day of sharing our mission and vision of United Health Centers-WS

We wanted to share last week the accomplishments of Tanika Whitsett graduating from Forsyth Technical Community College. In Tanika’s response to approve. She shared, she graduated with an associate in arts, and will be transferring to UNC Chapel Hill in the fall majoring in Nutrition and minor in Spanish.

This is major for our organization. UHC’s mission is, “Our mission at United Health Centers is to provide care while building healthier communities. The vision of the UHC’s leadership is to provide a high level of care and education that will positively impact neighborhoods, communities, and ultimately be a world model for quality care.” Therefore, our patients continue to be treated by the best care takers in Winston-Salem, and Forsyth County.
