It's a bittersweet truth David Kessler đź’š
We want love without heartbreak — but here on Earth, they come as a package deal.
“Love and grief come as a package deal. If you love, you will one day know sorrow.”
It’s a truth most of us wish we could escape.
We don’t want to imagine losing the people who mean the most to us.
We don’t want the sorrow, the ache, the empty space they leave behind.
But if we move through life loving others — really loving them — grief will eventually find us.
Not because we did anything wrong.
Not because we were meant to be tested.
But because grief is the echo of love.
And the depth of that grief will always reflect the depth of the love.
As painful as that is, I don’t want to move through this world avoiding love just to avoid grief.
I don’t want to miss the relationships, the joy, the connection — even knowing sorrow will one day come.
Love is worth it.
Even when grief follows.
How does this idea land with you — comforting, painful, or a mix of both?
