Happy Monday, mental health community πŸ’š
We want to remind you and ourselves:
There are 4 things within your control πŸ’― percent of the time.
1. Your thoughts.
2. Your emotions.
3. Your actions.
4. The consequences of your actions.

May this empower you to make the necessary changes πŸ’š

Grief is an invitation to sit, rest and reflect. The pain is also present. The heart aches. Your eyes are fixed on anything to get a sense of being here or present, and at the same time, no desire to be here (without them/the thing/home, etc). Your appetite is less. Your sleep is interrupted. Your mind is blurry/numb or unfocused. Your body is tired from an emotional heaviness only grief seems to offer. You notice who is present and who is not and who you wish was there for you. You notice change. Your life has changed. Then the road to finding meaning starts. It's rocky with a wave of different emotions. Do I care to find meaning? Does it matter what life is now (from grief)? Can I really be grieving if I find relief? Can I still laugh even though I feel guilty? Can I.....?
That's where we can be a guide in your integration of grief. Your process is your process and no right or wrong way to grieve. Finding your answers to those questions allows you to "work" through grief and meaning. You can still live a full life when you grieve fully. Grief doesn't go away, it waits for you. Nature and grief teach so much about the life cycle. Love and light to you in the heaviness of grief.πŸ’š

Happy Monday, mental health community πŸ’š In honor and encouragement of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., let us be love and light to each other, strangers and the world.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a radical arbiter of hope. This hope was driven by the belief that all people were worthy of dignity, justice, and opportunity. We will forever be thankful for his dedication to making the world better and inspiring others to do the same.

We like to remind ourselves and our clients: "I AM the thinker. I am not my thoughts." πŸ’š

A gratitude post for the wonderful librarians at the Avon Park location. They help us find the books at all costs. Reading keeps an open mind and in this day, an open mind keeps us in 'good mental health.' πŸ’š Thank you Heartland Library Cooperative
