Reason number 4,789 to have a home birth: we’ll leave your house cleaner than when we got there!

While you’re resting with your new baby, recovering from the intensity of giving birth, and coming back into your body, we are cleaning.

Yes, we are draining the birth pool. We’re also doing laundry, doing dishes after we’ve made sure you’ve eaten, and maybe even feeding your pets. You don’t even notice while it’s happening.

You have much more important things to do than cleaning blood off of your living room rug — hydrogen peroxide, by the way. It works every time.

Did you know that the kindred feminine has a lending library inside of Moonrise Birth Collective? It may be the first thing you see when you walk into Moonrise and it’s possible that you didn’t even realize it was there.

There are books on pregnancy, feeding your baby, and herbs and their safety. There are books full of birth stories, books to help you nourish yourself, and books to help your partner while they support you in labor.

The books on this shelf are available to any Moonrise Birth Collective client. Just let tamara know what you’d like to borrow — or if tamara’s not around whichever collective member you’re working with — and use the clipboard on the left hand side of the bookcase to sign out your book.

The lending library guidelines are as follows:
1. Please only borrow one book at a time from the lending library.
2. To ensure access for everyone, please do not keep your lending library book for more than four weeks.
3. Please treat your kindred feminine lending library book with gentle care and avoid getting them wet or spilling food on them.

Sometimes the birth pool doesn’t get set up. Because sometimes the first time mom has a 7 hour labor at 39 weeks with a 30 minute silent push and no tears. 😍

There is genuinely nothing more special than when clients become friends, except maybe for when clients become friends who become colleagues. It is our deepest privilege to announce that Elena Sledge, LMHC has joined !

Elena is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in perinatal mental health. As a mother, Elena deeply understands how the world fails to prioritize and support moms. As a person and a therapist, she is dedicated to changing the culture around motherhood.

Her practice combines advocacy, empowerment, compassion, and a holistic view of health to best support clients on their parenthood journeys. She is especially passionate about serving clients during pregnancy and their early postpartum months.  

Elena graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2016 with a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In 2020, she opened Awaken Therapy Collective which serves clients throughout Florida. 

Elena will be in office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, offering both virtual and in person sessions. If you want to book sessions with her head to our website or connect with her via her profile

We are so excited to announce that Dr. Erica Daoud is joining the Moonrise Birth Collective Family starting this upcoming Wednesday, July 9th!

Dr. Erica is a board-certified chiropractor with a deep passion for supporting families — especially moms and little ones — through every stage of life. She specializes in pediatric and prenatal/postnatal care, helping restore the nervous system to its highest function so children and parents can truly thrive. She’s also board-certified in acupuncture and certified in craniosacral therapy, offering a holistic and well-rounded approach to health and healing.

Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Erica worked as a paramedic for four years, giving her a strong foundation in emergency medicine and a unique perspective on patient care. This experience fuels her calm, compassionate, and thorough approach to chiropractic and wellness care.

A proud native of Florida, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College.

When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Dr. Erica spending time with her husband Joe, snuggling their Yorkie, Jake, or enjoying her favorite hobbies—cross stitching, sewing, reading, and traveling. She’s always up for a good concert or discovering a new place to explore!

What does it mean to be a ‘third space?’

A third space is a place separate from your home or your work where you spend time. You don’t need to buy anything to be there; these spaces offer comfort, and ease. A third space is a place where community comes together for no reason at all expect to be together.

Let Moonrise be your third space. If you’re running errands throughout the week, and need a place to hang before your next thing, come to Moonrise. If you’re having a hard day and just need to be with people who’ll listen and care, come to Moonrise. And if you just happen to be driving by and see cars in the parking lot, come on in. 💛

Most folks have either Emily or Tamara’s numbers, and if you don’t the Moonrise number is on google and either one of us will answer. If you’re wondering if you can stop by, feel welcome to call. You’re loved and you’re welcome.
