Let’s talk about mental decline.

People don’t just “go crazy” overnight.
There are usually signs. Subtle shifts. Changes in behavior, energy, mood, or thinking that get missed, dismissed, or pushed aside.

Over time, when stress builds, sleep is lost, nutrition suffers, and emotions go unprocessed—the nervous system starts to overload.

And eventually… something gives.

What people often call a “mental breakdown” is not random. It’s often the result of months or years of unresolved tension, pressure, and internal struggle.

Your body will send signals:

Exhaustion
Irritability
Withdrawal
Anxiety
Trouble sleeping

But when we ignore those signals long enough, the mind can no longer compensate.

This isn’t weakness. This isn’t “madness.”
This is the system reaching its limit.

Certain conditions, like schizophrenia, also tend to emerge in early adulthood—often in the early 20s for men and later 20s to early 30s for women—making it even more important to pay attention to changes in behavior and thinking during these years.

Check on yourself.
Check on your people.

If you notice changes in someone you care about, don’t ignore it. Reach out, and if needed, connect with a mental health professional to learn how to approach the situation in a supportive and safe way.

And most importantly—
don’t wait for a breaking point to start taking care of your mind.

You deserve support before things fall apart.
