Dear Aloma Eye Associates Patients and Friends,
Aloma Eye Associates has been a wonderful place for eye care since it was started in 1971 by Daniel Ritz. I purchased the practice in 2001, brought in my previous patients, and together we built a practice filled with joy and many successful outcomes. On February 6th I have retired, so it is now time to pass the “eye care” baton. Going forward, Aloma Eye Associates will remain the place to serve your eye care needs, with the stellar staff that has brought you back year after year.
I have truly enjoyed being your eye care practitioner, and helping you with your vision has been very rewarding. What I didn’t expect was how this work would give me access to the most human moments in people’s lives. There were days that seemed routine but carried quite an emotional weight. You shared stories with me that I will always remember. While eye care was always the priority, the dynamic of caring for people is also a craft.
Thank you for sharing your friends and family with me. I was honored to care for you through decades of time and across generations of families. Thank you for traveling so far in some cases, I know many of you passed several other eye doctors’ offices to get to Aloma Eye Associates, and I truly appreciated that. And thank you for trusting me, even when you couldn’t see me in my dark, blue room with your glasses on the counter.
Thank you for the privilege of being your doctor.
Sincerely,
Dr. Amy Ward, O.D., FAAO
