✨ No Regrets ✨

When my father was diagnosed again with leukemia, it happened at the exact moment I stepped into my first pediatric neurosurgery job in Orlando. I thought I was doing the right thing — balancing work, flying back and forth to Maryland, trying to hold everything together. I didn’t know we only had nine months left. None of us ever really know.

For a long time, I wondered if I should have taken that time off… slowed down… stayed by his side. But regret is a heavy thing that doesn’t change the past — it only steals from the present. So instead of living with regret, I’ve learned to use my experience to guide others.

Recently, I was able to share my story with a friend whose father is also battling illness. I told her to forego her trip and be with her dad — to spend that time, make the memories, and choose presence. Because if my journey can help someone else make a different choice — a choice they won’t have to question later — then my father’s legacy continues through the wisdom his life gave me.

We can’t always choose our circumstances, but we can choose what we do with the lessons they leave behind.
No regrets. Just purpose. Just love. Just the courage to help others with the wisdom our hardest moments teach us.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE OPERATING ROOM Our first Christmas party with one of our favorite people, Mileyshka. I had the honor of operating on her and removing a brain tumor, and seeing her thriving, happy, and healthy is the greatest gift of all! She and her family are such a blessing.
