Resident Ann was instrumental in creating an art show at River Run Assisted Living than ran from Oct. 14-21.

The idea, "Getting to Know You Art Show," started with coffee, talking about the many talents the residents bring at River Run.

"They were 'artisits' - art defined as things they created that made them happy or brought happiness to others," Ann said. "The art show took shape. No limits. No judging. It would be more like show and tell from our school days."

Residents, family members, visitors, and staff were treated to quite the show! More than 17 residents shared their gifts of woodworking, ornaments, trophies, crafts, travel, collections, music, handywork, and more.

"Nothing was off limits," as Ann said.

River Run made a donation of used walkers to Mobility 4 Vets Wheelchair Shop with the help and coordination of resident Jim Reas and fellow skilled volunteers, Al and Harvey. Jim has volunteered his time for many years at Mobility 4 Vets helping repair mobility equipment.

Mobility for all is the goal for this nonprofit organization with dedicated volunteers committed to helping others meet their mobility needs. Affordable mobility supplies available include wheelchairs, electric scooters, walkers, and bathroom items, such as toilet risers, shower chairs, and canes. Anyone with mobility needs can go to the shop located in Waupaca.

River Run thanks Jim and the volunteer team for making this possible for people with mobility needs.
