👋 Meet Our Providers – Coming to Marshfield!

We’re excited to bring a strong team of specialists to our Marshfield location — making it easier to access high-quality orthopaedic care close to home!

🦴 Dr. Duellman specializes in hip and knee joint replacement and utilizes the anterior approach for hip replacements. He also provides care for a full range of general orthopaedic and sports injuries including ACL injuries.

🏃‍♂️ Dr. Smedberg is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and will treat sports injuries including ACL tears. He also provides general orthopaedic care including conditions of the hand, wrist, shoulder, hip or knee. He’s passionate about helping patients recover and get back to the activities they enjoy most.

🦶 Dr. Sorensen is a board-certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon who treats a wide range of conditions, including bunions, hammertoes, flatfoot, Achilles tendon disorders, ankle instability, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and sports-related injuries.

🖐️ Dr. Walter focuses on hand and upper extremity care, treating conditions and injuries of the hand, wrist, shoulder and arm.

👣 Provider Spotlight: Dr. Tyler Sorensen

Dr. Sorensen is a board-certified Foot & Ankle Surgeon at Wisconsin River Orthopaedics, proudly serving patients across Central Wisconsin. A Wisconsin native, he combines advanced surgical expertise with a passion for helping patients move better and stay active.

He completed his training at Des Moines University, followed by a three-year surgical residency at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He then went on to complete a specialized fellowship at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, focusing on complex reconstruction, minimally invasive techniques, and total ankle replacement.

Dr. Sorensen treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including bunions, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, sports injuries, and more — with a focus on helping patients recover quickly and get back to doing what they love.

Outside of work, he enjoys hockey, waterskiing, and spending time with his wife and four children.

👋 Help us welcome Ryan Pulvermacher to the team!

Ryan is an Occupational Therapist who recently joined Wisconsin River Orthopaedics, and we’re excited to have him on board!

He graduated from UW–La Crosse and is passionate about helping patients understand the why behind their pain — empowering them to feel informed, confident, and involved in their recovery. Ryan especially enjoys working with upper extremity injuries and helping patients go from feeling frustrated or limited to confident and capable again.

Originally from Waupaca, WI, Ryan spent a few years living in Chicago before returning to the area.

Outside of work, he enjoys racket sports (especially pickleball), biking, music, hiking, and checking out local markets, festivals, and supper clubs.

We’re thrilled to have Ryan as part of our team — be sure to give him a warm welcome! 👏

Patients take great comfort in the fact that we are the longest-established orthopaedic practice in the area, having served the community for almost 40 years. Drs. James A. Wilkes, James A. Johnson, Douglas P. Galuk, and Todd J. Duellman provide comprehensive orthopaedic surgical care. Our physicians have many years of experience and expertise in all areas of orthopaedics, including joint replacement, spine and sports medicine. They have treated thousands of patients with great results. Though our facility is every bit as professional as you would expect, it also has a homey, comfortable feeling, thanks in large part to our very personable doctors and staff.
