Black Friday Shopping Safety Tips! 🛍️
Whether you’re hitting the stores or shopping from the couch, a little body awareness goes a long way.
For in-store shoppers:
• Wear supportive shoes to protect your feet and reduce strain during long lines and fast-paced crowds.
• Avoid lifting large or heavy items alone. If you must, use proper lifting mechanics—bend at the knees, keep items close to your body, and avoid twisting.
• Carry items close to your body and use both arms to distribute the weight evenly, placing bags on either side of your body.
For online shoppers:
• Keep your screen at or slightly below eye level to reduce neck strain during those long scrolling sessions.
• Sit back in your chair with your feet flat on the floor and your thighs parallel to the ground. Use a lumbar support cushion or a rolled-up towel to support the natural curve of your lower back.
• Support your arms and wrists to help prevent discomfort or overuse pain.
• Stand up, stretch, and walk around every 30 minutes. Even short micro-breaks can help.
