Since 1954, South Central Health has proven itself to be a healthcare leader in South Central North Dakota. Founded from a recognized need to provide medical services for residents of the area, SCH has grown to be a 24-bed Critical Access Hospital with Clinics located in Wishek, Napoleon, Kulm and Gackle. We are a local nonprofit association, and our employees have a greater dedication to your well-being because they live, work and play right here. Our patients are our families, friends and neighbors, and our slogan, "Quality Care with Concern and Compassion" has always been driven by the notion that they will be treated with the utmost respect and privacy. Happy National Radiologic Technology Week! — November 2nd–8th we celebrate our small but mighty crew here in Wishek!

This week we turn the spotlight on the professionals who make modern diagnosis possible — our Radiologic Technologists.

This year’s theme, “The Kaleidoscope of Radiologic Technology,” perfectly reflects how every scan, every specialty, and every modality come together to form one moving picture of patient care. Each technologist adds a different color to that picture. One may capture the perfect X-ray image, another a CT, MRI, or mammogram — all working together to keep treatment on schedule and patients cared for.

Their work rarely makes headlines, yet it keeps hospitals running smoothly every single day of the year. It’s a steady flow of empathy and science that never stops. From the black-and-white discovery of X-rays by German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen on November 8, 1895, radiologic technology has evolved into a brilliant kaleidoscope of innovation — saving lives and shaping the future of medicine.
